Checkers — Restaurant in Florida

I have been to the Winter Haven Checkers twice recently late at night. Both times I had very uncomfortable encounters with male employees from this particular restaurant. I work in food service and I work late nights so finding food very late is hard. I unfortunately chose this restaurant twice due to limited options - both times they had me park in the parking lot and walked food out to me. The order was taken like they are distracted and then they made me park. Then the orders were taken out to me in the lot each time by a male (different male each experience) and they both stared right at me, didn’t say a word, and walked away after making me take the bag of food like I was an inconvenience to them at 1am. They both looked me straight in the eyes intimidatingly and didn’t speak a single word. I will never go there again. I felt threatened as a female and it is not safe to dine here late at night. Please be aware of this place and avoid.

I called corporate after my experience last night and left a voicemail at 2am. I told them I have a receipt and described the experiences in detail with my contact info. I didn’t eat the food at all. They haven’t even tried to contact me almost 24 hours later.

So i swung by this checkers last night 11 minutes before they closed, after i got out of work. It's a checkers, a fast food restaurant, 11 minutes is ample time for me to order my food and be on my way. I pull into the drive thru, lights still on, nobody else in line. I sit at the speaker for 2 minutes. No greeting, no "im sorry we are closed" (even though it was not closing time), nothing. So i sit for 2 minutes, and then they just shut off the lights. So no it is 9 minutes before they are supposed to be closed, they have ignored a customer for 2 minutes, and then closed up shop.

I have been to this checkers before, and overall have had a decent experience. Fast service, mediocre food, rude employees. But it is a checkers so i dont expect much. So i never have cared to review this establishment. But not even acknowledging a customer and shutting the lights off before you are supposed to close, that is just ridiculous.

I have worked fast food jobs before, they suck. But you at least do your job. You arent even expected to do it well, just to do it.

Luckily there is a taco bell down the road, with way better service, and decent employees who didnt mind taking my order when i got there one minute before closing.

So next time you are on cypress gardens blvd, and want something quick to eat. Drive a mile down the road and gets some tacos from people who actually...

We come to checkers because they are open late and we always get a free show, usually an accident tonight it was a fight in the drive thru line. The drive thru line was being held so long people were fighting in it lol. We ordered our food 2 sandwiches, 2 chili dogs, and an order of mozzarella sticks. Chicken sandwich was cooked to death, burger ordered with only ketchup, pickle, and lettuce came out with tomatoes and a sauce on it, chili dogs were ordered with cheese and onion, they only had chili on them. We got our food after almost a half an hour of standing at the window watching the line for the drive thru back up into the street next to the store. I honestly don't know how they are as busy as they are at night considering the crew is so slow and careless with the orders they put out. Watched a couple other orders be returned because they weren't right while we ate our incorrect or dry sandwiches. Unfortunately late night options are limited and we will be forced to return by looking for other night time options for sure. But honestly who doesn't like dinner...
