This is NOT the place to go if you are counting calories - their honey glazed croissants are addicting! And they are served free as a starter, like other restaurants would serve rolls. More please! Technically, I'd be happy with a plate of the croissants and a cocktail, but I knew that was just not feasible.
The first thing we noticed was the decor was very attractive but dark! At first I thought it was because we had just come in from the bright sun but even after our sight adjusted to the new lighting, it was a bit dark. Just an opinion ...But the people in the booth in back of us agreed so I don't know if the lighting is like that all the time or what.
I went with my husband who had heard good things about this place. I ordered the salmon which was wonderful! Moist and perfectly seasoned. (Better than the leading seafood restaurants in the area!) The entrees come with two sides and I was so happy to see they have a more than acceptable selection of side dishes - unlike other popular restaurants in the area that stick to the fries, beans and rice, or upcharge for things like mac and cheese. Cheddars does it right - broccoli, carrots, plantains, broccoli and cheese casserole, beans and rice. All excellent!
My husband, surprisingly, ordered the steak. He never gets a steak unless we go to a steak house so my first thought was "uh oh...this won't end well". But he thoroughly enjoyed it! He said it had a bit of a kick to it, and since he adds Tabasco to everything he eats, I found this a bit unsettling because the menu says nothing about a zesty seasoning or anything like that. The waitress said that's the same seasoning they use all the time so just a heads up here - if you can't tolerate spicy, perhaps ask for no seasoning and add your own at the table. However, the quality of the meat was excellent, which was a bit surprising since our experience with steak at other restaurants, not steakhouses, was usually less than acceptable.
Although we went about 6:30 PM, and the restaurant wasn't busy, service was pretty slow. We ordered cocktails and some water to start and it took a good 10 minutes to get these. We could see the bar from where we were seated and it was empty so I don't have any idea what the hold up was.
They don't seem to have a lunch menu but they do have an all day happy hour with half price cocktails. Wines don't seem to be included - I got two different answers from various staff when I asked about the wine.
Will definitely be back - probably to check out...
Read moreWhere do I begin. Our server was very sweet and welcoming. We started our meal by ordering the Wisconsin cheese bites and ordering our daughters grilled cheese sandwich with a side of broccoli (hence we order her meal first so they can bring it out with the appetizer). They started by bringing out their signature croissants which I found delicious but little did we know that everything was about to change. They bring out the cheese bites which look nothing like the picture but taste is average and too spicy for my 3 year old daughter. Then we have to ask for her meal who had yet to make an appearance. We received her meal and the broccoli was definitely not cooked but thankfully she likes it anyway. I also ordered a loaded baked potato soup and it’s not soup it’s mashed potatoes. 15 minutes later we get our meals and I take one bite and my steak and broccoli casserole are beyond cold. When I tell the server the issue she states that she needs to call for a manager. So I wait there with my cold meal. My husbands ribs are actually a decent temperature and he eats away. When the manager arrives he asks what the issue is and I re-explain that my food is cold. What was about to happen has never happened before in my life - the manager says - what would you like us to do, we can reheat in the microwave. I was in shock and then my husband said no and asked for a new steak. The manager takes my food and comes back a few minutes later to apologize and explains that he and the other manager will directly be handling my meal and that one of the burners was not working (ok that can possibly happen). Then when they come back with my meal, I was appalled that the steak and food on my plate was the same food with my one bite taken. They definitely microwaved it and did not replace with a fresh meal. I have never received such bottom level service at a restaurant before especially when they just opened about a month ago. I will never ever be coming back to this establishment not even for drinks as they only have 2 beers on draft 😯 - bud light...
Read moreNickolas O. Bartending skills are terrible and disappointing Due to the fact that he is racist. The bar was packed I was the only black person sitting at the end of the bar and and it took him 45 minutes to acknowledge me.There was a couple that came and sat next to me they came after me I came but he attended them 1st and ignored me. I had to call his attention to order a drink and my food. Then when my food came the salmon came under cooked and I asked him to please have it well done. He kept on acknowledging everybody else at the bar asking them if they were OK if they needed something else to drink but myself once he came to get to go Box. That is when I had to acknowledge him to ask him to give me another drink otherwise he did not come back to me after he gave me my 1st drink at my food. Once the manager came over and apologized that my salmon was undercooked he went ahead and gave me another one. Then the bartender I had to call his attention once again to give me my check and ask for another drink cause he did not acknowledge me after they brought me the salmon. He proceeded to talk to the waitress about my situation instead of attending the bar. Once I asked him for my check he told me that the 2nd meal was on him like saying that I should have never ordered what I asked for basically. As a single mom on a Friday night for me to enjoy a meal that I'm paying for in 4 I expect my meal to be what i paid for i work hard for my money And nobody pays my meals but myself. I have to rethink about coming here again due to the fact...
