Went yesterday for brunch and everything was mostly average for a Cracker Barrel experience. Our waitress was attentive and the cashier ladies were friendly. The only thing was that the short brunette hostess that was working was awful. Looking back now I wish that I had spoken to her about it face to face. I’m a server myself and she was completely unprofessional and rude. When approaching the host stand, instead of greeting us, she faced the floor and mumbled something about just getting there and clocking in, and then glared at and rolled her eyes at the group of customers walking past her. Then she disappeared and then came back to seat us. At our table, she stood on the other side and talked to the other hostess (loud enough for us to hear her) about how she just does the bare minimum there. We could tell. After our meal we wanted to tip our waitress in cash but couldn’t find her. I asked her if she knew who our waitress was and she said “Yeah?” with a blank stare like she was annoyed to be asked a question. I asked, “Can you go get her?” and she literally walked into the dining room and threw out her hands like “go find her yourself.” I said, “We can’t find her. Can you go get her?” and then the girl went and got her and we didn’t speak another word to each other. Like I said, I wish I had called her out in person, but I hope she reads this because I know she’ll remember exactly who we were. As a food industry employee, this girl was completely rude and unprofessional. I know that the days can be hard and busy and stressful, but I still never treat people that way. If you brag about doing the bare minimum at your part-time hostessing job then good luck with...
Read moreOrdered online and was told it would be ready at 8:05, I was a little early, I walked in with another gentleman and we waited patiently. I ask if I could please add some tartar sauce and 2 apple butter, I was told that there would be a charge for the apple butter which was fine. A young man came out and stated they were out of the pork chops so I ask what would be the substitution he gave my choices and I picked the chicken. So I waited until 8:45 before I received my food and the gentleman who came in with me was still there waiting on his. Other people came in afterwards and received their food. I only live 5 minutes away once I arrived home my shrimp was cold, my granddaughters chicken tenders were hard like they were fried twice. My husband chicken was the only thing that was hot. And no apple butter that was made sure i was charged for. I'm here all the time spend plenty of money here I have never waited 40 minutes before. I did call back and speak with the manager who was very helpful to offer me 2 free meals. I was just disappointed because I know this is mot the service I am use to at this restaurant. And restaurant was not even busy. If your going to allow ordering online maybe you should make sure the items are available. Also if you know I was going to have to wait for my order, then my other food should have waited before it was made to. I'm sorry, I had to right a poor review but I had to throw my shrimp, chicken tenders away. They were not good at all. Had to make a 6 year old little girl something to eat after 9:00pm. I know that this should and could have been rectify before my order was even handed to me....
Read moreFirst off the food and dining experience me and my husband have here is always stellar... Usually. We came in for dinner around 5-6pm on Friday and were sat quickly by the hostess, we waited for our waitress for about ten minutes before we were able to put in our drink orders, then another 10-15 to get our drinks. Now I'd understand if it was busy however we were one of 4 occupied tables, 2 of which were being served by 2 separate waiters. Ordering was the next challenge. My husband and I ordered the same item, the "Grandpa's Country Fried Breakfast”. I got the chicken, and my husband got the steak. I was given a choice of 2 sides while she only gave my husband the option of 1 side. When asked she argued that his only came with one side, even though we ordered the same thing. So I was worried I was given an unintended up charge for a second side and asked to take one of my sides off to make it even. A little confused we continued on and our entrees came out. My chicken came plain fried with no gravy while my husband's country fried steak was topped with gravy, and our biscuits were also missing a side of gravy as well. She once again bickered with me claiming my chicken didn't come with gravy and neither did the biscuits. I'm going to insert the menu description of the items below, "Two farm fresh eggs* and your choice of Breakfast Side plus Country Fried Steak or Chicken Fried Chicken with Sawmill Gravy. Includes Biscuits n' Gravy." I'm unsure if our waitress was either inexperienced or just unwilling to hear us out but we are having second thoughts about returning in the future due to...
