The Boba House is a classic, university hangout that serves specialty smoothies and sweets. The smoothies are popularly known for the accompanying tapioca balls referred to as boba at their bottoms. The choice is yours whether you'd like to keep them in there or not. A unique variation to ice and milk is LASSI yogurt. Different, but very good. The atmosphere is artistic, laid-back, and open. Come to sit on the couches and drink one of many flavors etched across their menu boards. Local artists are elected to have their artwork hung upon the Boba House walls. A local Book-Swap Shelf lends the place to bibliophiles as much as musicians with its stage and gamers with its video game set-up. Occasionally, the establishment holds gaming tournaments: card, video, and board games. In addition, open mic nights, local comic stand-ups, poetry readings, and local bands. a troupe of improv performers is known to go every now and then throughout the week to perform for customers on their stage. It's definitely a place for those in the city of Tampa to experience if one enjoys a good smoothie and some art.
Suggestion from their Menu: M.V.P. with LASSI and Extra-Boba (if you like the...

This was my first ever visit to this hidden treasure called University Boba. The cutest not so little, was presently surprised at the interior restaurant space. The vibe is also adorable and really clean. Lily is who made my drinks, greeted me as soon as I came in and she was very inviting and really friendly. It was like ordering from a friend not someone who seems bothered you want to order and can't wait to get off the clock. Which was such a refreshing change! I got 2 drinks, 1 was a Charmander which was a suggestion from Lily only difference I added mango popping boba EXCELLENT it's a blended fruity drink 10/10 it actually had more than five l Popping bobas like most places and drink 2 which I feel like if you're going to have boba the brown sugar milk tea is a staple drink however I must say I have not found anyone in the area that has one that is this delicious the quality of the jelly boba was fantastic with plenty as well so AGAIN 10/10. Lily thank you so much for my first experience and I will...
Read moreThe Boba house is a delightful little cafe set in the side or rather large strip mall near USF. Outstanding service, art, live music, fresh pastries, bobas of all varieties (including blends), lassi, and massive slices of cake await the curious palate.
I found the service to be wonderful. The gentleman working the counter, Kyle, was conversational, charming, entertaining, and had a natural connection with his patrons.
The establishment was festooned with affordable works from local artists and filled with the sounds of conversation, laughter, and live music. Comics and superhero movies appeared to be the focus of the night when I visited, which fit a great deal of the art.
My treat for the evening was The Dirty Cookie, which is a mix of Taro, chocolate, lassi, and cookie crumbs. It's a diet buster, but I've been good lately, so I suppose I've earned it. Best boba slush I've ever had.
This establishment sits toward the inside of the shopping center, so it may take a little searching. If you turn left at the Winn-Dixie and drive down that road, you should recognize the cafe by its unassuming yellow "boba"...
