Sushi Avenue — Restaurant in Temple Terrace

The Place was almost empty at 7 pm Sunday. We were 6 and there was another couple at another table. We ordered Miso soup that came cold. Volcano roll and Crab Rangoon that were really good. We ordered 5 Hibachi dinners and one Spicy chicken dinners. We waited for the food, the first 2 dishes came one by one. Then we waited another 5-6 minutes and the 2 platters came then we waited over 8 minutes and nothing came by. The first 2 in the party finished their food and then the last 2 platters came and they were done incorrectly. We sent it back and cancelled one of them due to the delay. My boyfriend and I found this place by Google search and decided to give it a try! Since then, we have come back multiple times for many reasons: They serve great food! I would personally recommend the crab rangoon for an appetizer, and there's many options for different rolls you can order. They also serve hibachi meals! Stellar customer service. The waiting staff is always friendly and they do a good job of making sure you have everything need (Jiwon is great!). I will say, however, that if you order a lot of food, it'll take a while for the kitchen staff to complete the order because they usually serve everything at the same time. Stay away from the shrimp dumplings!

I typically like to give places a 2nd look but I’ve eaten enough sushi to know it doesn’t get better here. Very low mid tier sushi but the prices were reasonable. The “shrimp” dumplings is where you get my rating, if I wanted dumpling dumplings I would have ordered that but this was definitely no shrimp dumpling.

I bit into the first one and tasted nothing so I proceeded to open them up one by one to discover the microscopic piece(s) of shrimp. This leads me to believe these are just mere frozen dumplings that I could have purchase myself at any Asian store.

If you can’t make shrimp dumplings at a sushi place please remove it...
