I ordered my food online for a scheduled pickup time at the counter. I walked in and people were standing everywhere. There was no clear spot where pick up was supposed to be or wear a line started so I ended up waiting after everybody ordering their food. When it was my turn, The girl at the register was just staring into space and didn’t call me up so I wasn’t sure if she was ready for me to come up or what. After a minute, I had to be like “are you ready?” And she just smiled and nodded at me. I let her know I was there for a pick up and I gave her my name and the girl went to check and said it wasn’t ready yet. After waiting 10 minutes I have to get another employee and say I’m still waiting for my order and they go look and they come back and say it’s not ready yet. Another 10 minutes go by and I have to say something again and I told them I’ve been waiting for 20 minutes and I still don’t have my order so the manager comes out and pulls it up on the computer and says the sale was unsuccessful so nobody was even making my order. I show her on my phone that the order says successful and show my receipt, but she showed me on her tablet, It did say unsuccessful so she had to retake my order and I had to wait another 10 minutes for my food to come out because it was a busy night. I’m just so frustrated that in those 20 minutes neither of those two employees even checked a computer to see if maybe there was an issue since I had been waiting a really long time. If the first person I talked to had checked, she would’ve seen right away that my order was unsuccessful on their end. The only reason I didn’t give one star is because the manager was very nice and “rushed” my second attempt order. But I was given no compensation or even a discount for them making me wait so long because of their mistake of not checking the computer and realizing there was an error and the fact that nobody thought it was odd that I was waiting 20 minutes for a scheduled pick up. There was no sign of error on my end so I couldn’t have known. The food was good. Attached is a photo of my “unsuccessful “ order and what I...
Read moreI discovered Culver's on a trip through Wisconsin a few years ago. On a whim, I tried their frozen custard and loved it. It was rich, flavorful and tasted like the frozen custard (called Creemees) I loved to eat in the summer months while growing in the dairy-plentiful state of Vermont.
About a year or after discovering Culver's, a store opened up a short distance from my house in Florida. That is both good and bad—the custard is just as good as it was at the Culver's in Wisconsin and I have to use self-restraint not to visit too often and enjoy more of this delightful treat than my waistline can take.
Since the local store opened, I have tried the butter burgers on several occasions. The bread is always fresh, the lettuce and tomato are fresh, the meat tastes good but is sometimes burned and always very thin.
Of course, I can order a double butter burger which adds to the size of the sandwich. It is also unfair to compare a relatively inexpensive butter burger with one in a different type of restaurant which is much thicker, and tastes very good but can sell for as much as $20 or so.
Considering the value and quality of the product, Culver's provides a good product at a very reasonable price. The fries are always good and cooked to a light brown and not burned. And, of course, the custard is always available and I inevitably purchase a small dish of chocolate or vanilla to enjoy and to savor to last until the next time I yield to the temptation of enjoying this frozen dairy concoction.
And, as a final important point, some fast food restaurants seem to employ people with minimal people skills and marginal qualifications. The staff at Culvers is always friendly and knowledgeable (and very young--kudos to the...
Read moreI was really impressed with the cleanliness of the lobby, seating area, and the restrooms. You just don't get that with many places these days, unfortunately. This was my first trip to Culver's. The service was really outstanding. Friendly greetings, kind people, even asked by several employees of everything was fine and if we needed anything. I must say the whitefish is very tasty, hand-battered and falling apart when you stick your fork in it. I couldn't even pick it up, so moist and delicious! The mashed potatoes were a bit bland and the gravy tasted like chicken gravy, I was expecting a brown gravy. The green beans were really good and crunchy, like they were picked off the plant and steamed. They were buttery and filled with onions. I tried my husband's Cole slaw, neither one of us was a fan of it. It tasted like they used apple cider vinegar in it and it made it taste sour. The French fries were good and hot. The shrimp was so succulent, crispy coated and so very delicious! We each had the brownie batter milkshake.. the flavor of the day. I drove an hour to visit, been waiting for months to try this place out. I have to say I can't wait to go back! I'm going to try the Mushroom and Swiss burger and onion rings next time. Their prices are very reasonable for what you get My husband wouldn't take me here for a long time. I had to prove to him that I could make up my mind in less than 2 minutes visiting several restaurants before he would take me to Culver's. Many menu items to choose from can be quite overwhelming for someone like me that can't make up my mind on what to eat, lol. I'm just glad that we live somewhat close. Hands down...
