My experience with this property management company has been extremely disappointing. Their job should be to ensure guests have a great stay, which does include a great experience, not just a comfy bed and a soft pillow to lay your head on. They failed to fully grasp the impact of the few mishaps that occurred.
When I spoke with the property manager, Kellie, rather than listening and addressing my concern with intention and understanding, she asked me to tell her how the front door not locking was inconvenient. When I explained it’s a safety concern and in my mind I’m thinking this is inconvenient because this is a delay, which did take about 4 hours to fix. This is an interruption in our day. Her response was condescending, telling me well, I don’t have to check in early and I can come back at 4, as if me actually checking in early was my fault. You all told us the room was ready early. She made me feel as if I was wrong for feeling the way I did.
To add to the experience, upon entering the room for the first time we were welcomed by a random man who turned out to be maintenance, but this was not the best first impression. Boxes on the floor, music playing. When questioned about why we were surprised with the presence of someone in our room they just said it can’t be avoided due to communication. In my 10+ years of coming to Destin this has never happened anywhere else. Perhaps they should implement a better communication system with their entire team. Once again it’s about the experience.
Lastly, they gave us the wrong parking garage number. We had a reserved parking space and because they gave us the wrong number on our paperwork we were asked to move our car around 10:00 PM. That is when we discovered the reason why we could not access the elevator from the garage to our room because we were going to the wrong elevator due to the wrong parking spot. This was also a big inconvenience to us. Poor oversight on their part.
This place does a lot of explaining. What I wanted was simple: fair acknowledgment of the poor experience and a gesture even if small like 10% off that day, to show they valued me as a guest. Instead, they offered things I didn’t want or need, like late checkout (I’m ready to leave not stay longer) or park tickets—none of which addressed my real issue, the condo and my experience that day was not worth the price I paid. I didn’t want to leave a review, because I know how important reputation is as a business owner, but after calling multiple times this was it for me.
Overall, some people with this company, not all, lack professionalism, and the ability to identify their customers true concerns. It’s basic customer care. If you want to feel respected and valued as a guest when something goes wrong this might not...
Read moreThis place is not very clean, for over 4000.00 for three days you can visibly see the stains on the carpet the. Pots and pans that you are supposed to use are rusted scratched very bad and has burnt spots on them, the upstairs has a loft with a bed that you have to walk thru to get to the restroom and then the 3rd bedroom is thru that bathroom so no privacy it doesn't show you any of that on the website, the floors and the throw rugs and the carpet is filthy so I give this 1star, plus that hassel of door code that are good from 11 to 1 and then a different code so I have 3 door codes,yesterday, today and this afternoon the washer was so small you were pushing it by putting 4 towels in and when they were done they weren't wrung out so extra time for drain and spin and still they were wetter than they should be then the dryer takes 3 cycles to dry so your waiting on towels to shower or you have to keep going back and forth from the beach to the condo to turn them on, and when you call they need to know when you'll be able to be there and who wants to wait for the repairman on vacation, i feel like it was falsely advertised about three bedrooms because there was not a door or walls around it so if your in the bedroom behind the bathroom and someone is in there restroom you can't come out of the bedroom and let's hope no one is dressing when you come out of the bedroom and walk thru the loft ,so you go upstairs and there is a bed you go thru there to the bathroom and a door to the other bedroom is thru the bathroom, it's crazy so most everyone is trying to use the downstairs bathroom for privacy, there was 1 table with an umbrella at the pool that's all the shade they offered, there was no seating at the grill station at least there was some shade for that part of the time.the location was great ,it was close to restaurants and grocery stores. Read moreThis week Governor DeSantis declared a State of Emergency for the entire State of Florida due to Hurricane Ian. For the past 6 years, I have had a group that has had as many as 20 rentals at the Hidden Dunes Beach and Tennis Resort during the month of September. This year, out of an abundance of caution and the safety of our Brothers, we cancelled this weeks trip on Monday. Our members began calling to ask for a refund and or at least a credit going forward to next year. Some had deposited as much as $1,300.00. To our astonishment the insurance that was sold by Newman-Daily Properties Inc. is trash, as It will ONLY cover if the county / zone your rental is located is deemed a "Mandatory Evacuation Zone".....ONLY ! Mr. Ken Wampler - President of Newman-Daily was sharp in his decision to say NO refunds, No discussion for issuing credit to a future date. He, thru an agent, sent us a letter to that effect. This agent told me, quite directly, that though Destin might get heavy rain and high winds (oh, she's a weather forecaster also), and though the Governor had declared the entire state a State of Emergency - Newman-Daily was not going to issue refunds nor credits to future rental dates, no discussion! If you are enticed to buy their insurance policy - don't without reading the entire document - its trash, and if your visiting the Beautiful Beaches of Destin, you have many more choices than Hidden Dunes Beach and Tennis Resort and surely based upon our experience don't use Newman-Daily Properties, Inc. as a rental agent! My bet will be, Newman-Daily was excited for our cancelations - people that may be running from this disaster will find shelter, will unknowingly find our cancelled rooms available, find a trashy insurance policy, pay twice the going rate - and get screwed by Wampler's Newman-Daily !!!
