I really had high hopes for this place as I've seen it transition from a Lee Roy Selmons to a Glory Days and now Diesel Garage.
I'll start out by saying that we went on the first Saturday after they opened (2nd night I believe). I liked the look of the place - the garage/car theming is nice (similar to Ford's garage). I also thought the menu looked promising.
Here's the bad news - now mind you I will not comment too much on the slow service because they were just open a few days. We started by ordering drinks and an order of Onion Rings with ranch. Never got the ranch! OK, no biggie about the ranch, they were busy, and I thought the O-Rings were good!
On to the drinks - Wife's drink was the wrong color, my Mule had too much lime juice as that's all you could taste, the double whisky on the rocks came out neat and took about 15 minutes to get a cup of ice. Again, just opened, rolled with the slow service!
Here's where it went downhill for us. First off son ordered the fish tacos - asked for no cabbage and an order of fries with ranch. First order of tacos came out loaded with red onion, which is not listed as an ingredient in the menu. Asked if he could have them remade without red onion and cabbage. Came out the 2nd time with no red onion, but loaded with cabbage. Sent back again and came out with just fish, no sauce, no cheese, no nothing. Son also never received his side of ranch. Also by this time everyone else had finished eating.
Daughter ordered 10 wings and asked if could have 5 dry rub and 5 Buffalo- waitress said sure, but Buffalo would come on the side was the only way they could be split. Great, that's the way we ordered them. 5 came out dry rub and 5 came out sauced. When the bill came, instead of charging us for 10 wings (16.99), we were charged $9.99 twice for each order of 5 wings - not what the waitress had initially explained.
Other food highlights - pulled pork was not fresh, tasted reheated and portion was small. Mashed potatoes tasted like then came from a box. Baked beans tasted like canned beans - for a place that serves BBQ, you would think the baked beans would have a little meat in them. Collard greens with bacon were bland. Overall, food was a 1/10 with not tasting fresh and small portion sizes for price.
Finally, when we got the bill, we saw the mix up with the wings ($20 for 10 wings) and also that we were charged twice for ranch we never received. I was also a bit surprised that they still charged us for the fish tacos, but whatever. When we asked about the ranch, the waitress got upset and started yelling that she was sure she delivered it to our table. We also noticed how the table next to us had two different managers visit them twice but none ever checked on us.
I wish them the best of luck, but we will never dine...

It took a while to flag down our waitress to order food and drinks. They were busy.
I ordered the Gouda double bacon burger with fries and paid the extra .99 to add grilled onions.
Our food arrived, or so we thought.
The person carrying the food ( 2 orders of Gouda Bacon Burgers… was also carrying hot dogs and wings which none of ordered.
The person who brought our food to us literally said “ Who had the Gouda Bacon Burger…”. . .
Me. That was me. My friend also ordered the same thing. They gave my friend her Gouda burger..
As I am cutting my burger in half with a fork as there were no knives.. and pouring ketchup on my fries.. my friend takes a big ole bite of her burger.. while the server was asking who had the hot dogs…
As Im checking my Burger to make sure it had the grilled onions I ordered I noticed it had the raw red onions Before I could even take a bite.. The waitress comes back and says I’m sorry but you got the wrong order and I need to take all your food back to the kitchen
We had to wait an additional 20 minutes to get our food because they gave us the wrong order The table that should have gotten their order we ended up getting served waited longer for their food.
Something seems really screwy with their system. They seem to not have a system in place When bringing out the food
As I sat and watched the servers caring food from table to table asking customers if this was what they ordered
it ends up being the table next to them Or the table across on the other side of the room
I’m not sure why the tables aren’t numbered and the servers dont know where to bring the food.
They’re just seems to be no system here which is a chaotic mess especially if you’re going to be booking events like this
The Store Manager has to know that this was a complete Sh** show last night. Servers have to be stressed out and the cooks remaking food because servers dont know where the food is going.
If they figured this out, it would be a solid place. If you come here on event nights, plan to wait a long time for food and drinks. Get there early if you want a seat outside. 530p-6pm or you will be sitting inside away from the entertainment .
Bands that are advertised to start at 7pm actually start at 8pm. Plan to eat before if you are starving. We spent over $70 on 2 different occasions On a Friday night for mediocre food and service. There are better choices we could go to spend our money. We were hoping the second visit was going...
Read moreI've been looking for a great wing spot in the area and unfortunately this place missed the mark.
I don't usually leave reviews but I saw that the ownership has been very responsive so I figured I would leave one in the hopes that the very correctable issues can be solved.
Overall the menu seemed to be what you'd expect from the branding. Some good options for burgers and "bar bites". Prices in general seemed fair. A bit more expensive than a chain but it's worth it being a local place.
My major complaint is their wing offerings. When I went, an order of 5 wings was $10, quite steep. The 10 wing order is more in line with the pricing on the rest of their menu, not cheap but fair at $17. The issue is that they don't allow you to split sauces on a 10 wing order. They also don't offer a 15 or 20 wing order size, which is the sweet spot for me. This effectively makes it cost $2 a wing if you want to have different sauces, corresponding to an extra $3 charge for an order of 10 wings just to toss them separately. I understand it takes some extra time to toss multiple flavors but this is fairly standard for wing places. I would love to order a bunch of wings and try all the different flavors( about 20 from what I recall), but the way they set up their menu it makes it hard to justify. Perhaps an extra charge of a $1 or so to get multiple flavors would be more palatable(similar to the charges for extra sauce). They also charge for celery and blue cheese. This isn't an issue for me as I don't normally go for those but I've never been to a place that charges extra for those when you order wings.
A few other mixed results were the menu, that was well themed along with the restaurant but poorly arranged with pasta being listed under the seafood section and the sides being hidden in the burgers menu without listing ala carte prices. They have a good number of beer taps but lack variety with pretty much all the local stuff being limited to IPA's. IPA's are what sells right now so I can give them a big pass on that.
I'll also say that they seemed to be under staffed, but when I was there they were working as a team to make sure all the tables were getting their food in good time with good service so that should only get better.
Overall I'm happy to see a new place open and will probably give it another try in a month or so, but I think there's still a few growing pains they're working through. Hope to see this place...
