Writing this in hopes it serves as constructive criticism for this small business as I only want to see them improve from mine and other reviewers recent reviews. Cashiers and service was great The Oreo cake donut was phenomenal and if I ever came back it would be for that ! The cronut was pretty sad, very flat and dense, an ENORMOUS amount of oil or butter in the middle to wear it was almost soggy and inedible due to the overpowering flavor Strawberry cut donut looked gorgeous but was lacking flavor and dense 5.middle of the jumbo cinnamon roll was not gooey it was completely raw dough. The Kolache took 20 minutes from order to table and was very very bad. No where near what a kolache is, if the dough was not risen or werenât prepared to make them I would have respected them saying they are not available. Instead I waited a very long time to receive what looked like an empanadas with very very hard outside almost burnt but raw dough underneath. Very very heavy dough that must have not risen enough, the inside was over cooked salty eggs and the outside was covered in butter or oil and cheap grocery store Parmesan cheese. Kolaches are supposed to be a soft fluffy bun and the grease and cheese did nothing for the flavor. I did not comment on items 3-5 but I did bring the Kolache up to let them know it was inedible as the entire dough was raw underneath. They kindly replaced it with a bacon egg and cheese bagel which was amazing ! Maybe stick to a smaller menu like breakfast sandwichâs and bagels and a select few of donuts that are done well like the Oreo cake one so that it is a better experience and less for the business to keep up with preparing. Been going here for years and I love to support a small business. I rarely leave bad reviews but I am hoping...
Read moreMy wife and I decided to give Cosmic Donuts a try this morning, and honestly, it was a mistake. The one donut and two coffees we ordered were passable at bestânothing remarkable except that the donut was slightly larger than usual. But what completely ruined the experience was the complete circus surrounding our two breakfast sandwiches.
After waiting 15 minutes, a womanâpresumably the owner or managerâcame to our table, checked our ticket, and assured us the sandwiches were being made and would be out soon. Spoiler alert: they werenât. Several minutes later, still no food. I went to the counter to ask about the sandwiches, and the cashier said sheâd check. Back at our table, another employee came by to inform us the kitchen never received the ticket for our order. Seriously?
She asked for our ticket number and headed back to the kitchen, where youâd assume theyâd finally start making our food. Nope. At this point, weâd been waiting for more than 30 minutes. Then she came back again to tell us they were out of jalapeĂąo bagels for one of the sandwiches. That was the final straw. I told her to cancel the sandwiches and give us a refund.
If youâre just grabbing a donut and going, it might be an okay experience. But if you want anything other than a donut, pack a lunchâbecause youâre going to be waiting a while. The disorganization and lack of communication here are staggering. A (expensive) donut shop that canât handle breakfast orders? Save yourself the frustration and go somewhere else. Cosmic Donuts was...
Read moreEdited to drop the rating to 3 stars: *lately the customer service has gotten pretty bad. Thereâs usually at least 3-4 people working yet the line always extends to the back of the store. Not sure why itâs always so slow but it appears management is struggling to figure out efficient processes. *Additionally, it appears theyâve replaced their basic vanilla/buttercream filling with a marshmallow fluff filling instead?? I hate to say it but itâs just not good. Why get rid of the basics for something different like that? Sadly, wonât be returning due to the issues with how the store is currently being run + lack of vanilla cream filled donuts.
Original review:
Iâd consider myself somewhat of a donut connoisseur and I must say, these are some pretty dang good donuts. They have everything from your basic glazed and frosted to Banana pudding. All of the ones Iâve tried have been fresh, filling and had good flavor.
Now for the bad part: Docking one star because of the prices. Every donut is priced differently and most of the âcoolâ or âuniqueâ ones that you would go here for will run you close to 4-5 dollars. $5 for a single donut is insane especially considering the prices of other donut places around town. Spending anywhere from 10-15 bucks on 3 donuts is not sustainable for most consumers. Iâd be a regular customer who stops in a few times a week if not for the prices. Instead, I only get around to coming by once...
