Went to Dillon’s for the 1st time cuz we heard great things about the prime rib. We were Seated promptly and had a nice server. Ordered appetizer and drinks. Then my husband and I decided to split a prime rib as we both weren’t overly hungry after the appetizer. I specifically asked the server if there was still MR prime rib as we do not like our prime rib overdone. They said yes. Fast forward to getting our meal. A young lady brought it to the table and I said “this is not medium rare and it’s over done for our liking”. She said, it is and it’s because the lighting in the restaurant it just looks that way. So begrudgingly I accepted the prime rib. I cut into it and it was medium/medium well and tough. I Called her over again and stated we won’t be eating it. 2 minutes later the manager Shaun came back with same cut prime rib on the plate and argued with me about the doneness of the meat. He said this is medium rare and in the back of the kitchen you can see in the lighting that it is. He puts it back on the table. At this point I was annoyed that he didn’t offer any alternatives when I told him I didn’t want it. He walks away and under his breath (where my husband could hear him) he said “Medium Rare” which was so un called for. My husband couldn’t believe it and he started getting upset because Shaun crossed a line at that point. We called the server back and told her what happened. She couldn’t believe it either. She was very nice and went to talk to him. It was taken off the bill but was a big issue prior to that. This should have never happened and we should have never been treated that way. A skilled manager would have had WAY better customer service skills and professionalism. If you don’t like the customer service industry get out. Don’t treat your patrons so poorly. We will not be coming back and it’s a shame because if this was handled differently, we absolutely...
Read moreOoooh that smell..... Can't you smell that smell???? I could hear Lynrd Skynyrd for days because the place stinks like an ashtray. .I was really looking forward to having dinner with several other families at Dillon's. I called and spoke with manager and was told that they get busy with families after Coral Shore's football games and since they were the only restaurant I found that served past 10. The menu looked good with very fair prices and I asked - "it is a good environment for kids - not filled with drunk, cursing and smoking types" and was assured it wasn't.
It was raining Friday night so I dropped the family off and parked. I got to the door and my wife was outside and said the smoke smell is bad and she could't possibly eat there with her asthma. I opened the door and looked inside and "bam" the the smell of 1000 ashtrays hit me. I did see two guys smoking outside so I guess that they don't allow smoking while food is served but after food service they do ore maybe they allow smoking - which I believe is against the law.. It was really gross, so I called the other families and told them and they said their wives would never eat in a place like that either.
As a former smoker, i could have stomached it, but the owners need to know that that is totally unacceptable in 2018. Too bad I was really looking forward to a great time with friends and ended up eating Domino's Pizza...
Read moreMy husband and I have been customers at Dillon’s for over 15 years. Their take out was consistently good with our favorites being the Grouper Reuben, steak dinner, chicken Cobb salad and the spinach artichoke dip and many more items. A couple of weeks ago a provolone cheese burger with sweet potato fries and a Grouper Reuben was ordered. The cheese burger had American cheese that mostly melted into the styrofoam container and was raw in the center. Fries cold. No slice of tomato or lettuce or dill pickle spear included. The Grouper Reuben was soggy and bland. It used to be flaky fish with crisp slaw and a delight. Half of it we discarded. We thought how sad that we won’t be frequenting Dillon’s anymore. But we were both yearning for the Delmonico steak dinner thinking they (new owners since 12/23) were having an off night last week so let’s try again. Another off night tonight? Steak overcooked and so tough. Baked potatoes okay. Caesar salad ordered with dressing on the side was drenched in dressing and no croutons and it was inedible as romaine seemed old. It probably is goodbye Dillon’s, for us. You used to be consistently very good. Too bad you may be heading for...
