Donatos Pizza — Restaurant in Florida

Ordered by phone around 9:30pm and promptly arrived less than five minutes later. Patiently waited for my food and even tipped. I was very polite & considerate and had asked them when I placed the order if they were cool with taking an order “so close to close,” and they said it was no problem. (I’m a trained pizzaiolo and I’ve worked in restaurants—fast food & dine-in—and retail—big box & boutique—since age 14, so I get it.)

The guy who answered the phone seemed like he couldn’t care less and looked like it to when I saw him in person; the girl who handled the call was extremely anxious & unknowledgeable, and the girl making my food seemed even more lost.

I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt and not check the bottom of my calzone in the store, so I waited 'til I got home, but since the wax paper* the girl removed off the bottom of my calzone as soon as it came out of the oven was absolutely burnt to an blacked crisp, I really should’ve just done it there and requested a new one or an instant refund.

Do better. Jobs are hard to come by. Gen Z needs to work harder. A job is job. If you don’t know what to do, ask for help. Don’t mess with people’s hard-earned cash; especially, when they’re also living paycheck-to-paycheck and are below the poverty line. Service was VERY friendly. However, the pizza I wish I went to California Pizza Kitchen which is similar distance from my work. Similar pricing as well between the two. If I had to compare the two the crust here is poor quality. Does not taste freshly made. The vegetables just didn’t taste fresh either. I was looking for a handmade high quality pizza. If you’re going to splurge on the carbs make sure it counts right? I honestly would rather buy a frozen pizza in a box than try this again sadly. I just personally feel we are in Naples with so much competition this place was a flop for me. I would compare it to Dominos or Pizza Hut. I would give all zeros if I could. Naples Donato's has no customer service, management or customer service skills. The totally messed up a pizza, hard to do, a few months ago. Which was never eaten after waiting 2.5 hrs. No major sports going on. Then they could not find me for my free apology pizza this evening and told me I would have a $10 delivery charge. What a, no words for their pathetic service. I hope all the higher ups see this. Call me. Big guys they have my number. Sad is I dealt with the same manager. Some training may be needed.
