Disappointing experience at Costco Naples We were scammed like many by this guy named Leo at the Costco AT&T kiosk in Naples. We 've been with T-Mobile and been very happy for 10 plus years, but it appeared that we could save money with the offer at Costco. We were paying $120/mo. for 4 lines with T-Mobile. By the time we were done, we were supposed to get three iphone upgrades and similar service for $150/mo. The bill was supposed to go down to $108/mo once the equipment was paid off. Instead, we found out from the AT&T Store guys that our initial bill would be $174/mo and then go up to $224/mo. instead of going down after 10 months. Due to they AARP discounts expiring. It turned out, the Costco AT&T outfit is a third party and the AT&T Store people hate them and because they lie and scam people. We activated the three iphones and had issue with the fourth one, so we went to the AT&T Store in Naples Plaza per the instruction from Costco AT&T. The AT&T guys told us they have constant problems with the lies from these guys and are trying to get them booted from Costco. Leo told us we would get the plan details in writing which never happens. Although, he shows you the lie details on his screens when he sells you, but never sends you those details later. Bait and Switch. Leo also apparently locked us out by changing our email address after the initial emails, but before we activated. We call Costco and they are indifferent and pass you off to some guy named Carl Soss, who the Costco Manager, Ericka Perez says is with AT&T in some compacity. He is apathetic, doesn't even identify himself on the voicemail number they gave us, doesn't call you back, if he is with AT&T, he is in direct conflict with his local store managers, doesn't communicate with them and apparently doesn't care. We are still waiting to have the AT&T Store guys help us cancel the plan. We signed up a couple weeks ago, but only activated yesterday while our kids are home for Thanksgiving. What a mess. Stay away from Costco/AT&T offerings. It's incredible that such a thing is happening in such large numbers. You can also google Costco AT&T scam to find lots of other similar posts. My guess is if you are already with AT&T or have a higher priced plan it is less of an issue. Regardless, the strategy is to lie tell you this first couple bills will be higher and then it will come down, but it never will happens and you are basically stuck. The lock out thing might be a delay or frustration factor tactic. My advice stay away from the third party deals or at least check out their validity directly with the carrier before you agree. Definitely, stay away from...
Read moreAlways a pleasure to shop at Costco. Great selection and a wide variety of items can be found there. You can buy too many things there if you’re not careful, especially when things go on sale. They frequently discount items when they’re trying to clear them off the shelf to make space for new products.
Their “no questions asked” return policy is fabulous but we recently had an experience where the guy at the customer service desk was giving me a hard time about returning something I never opened or used and I had a receipt - his argument was I wasn’t returning the item on the receipt and that I bought the item more recently and was returning it with an old receipt so I told him to look at the expiration date on the item to see that I was being truthful but he didn’t care!
There really is no time frame on most items so you can return them months after you bought them, even if you used the items (and that applies to perishable items like food). We recently bought some bananas from there but they must have been a different type of banana because they never ripened so when I went back 3 weeks later, the customer service rep didn’t give me a hard time and told me they’ve had many people return them and explained to me they must’ve had a “bad batch”.
Their food court is reasonably priced. If you don’t want to cook dinner, then you can just buy a whole pie of pizza for $10 or so - that’s pretty cheap compared to $30 at Mellow Mushroom or California Pizza Kitchen (CPK) or $20 at Papa Johns Pizza. And, the pizza is made to order and ready within about...
Read moreI like Costco. Like the value. What I don't like, and is no fault of their's is the comatose seniors walking around slowly, standing in the middle of the isles chewing away on the free samples like they're the only ones in the place, oblivious to the fact that some people are there to get in and get out in a reasonable amount of time. But when you have free samples of anything, the seniors come out of the woodwork. Easier to get in and out when the snowbirds leave during the summer months, and when they're in town, many of them can barely drive and are VERY rude and ignorant in the parking lot. Staff is very professional and knowledgeable. On a shallow level, on the whole, they're better looking people than Sam's Club employees. lol! Their food bar is good, their pizzas are GREAT! A slice of pizza is the equivalent of 2 slices of a whole pie! My 6yr old daughter LOVES a slice of cheese. Joined Costco the minute they opened in Naples years ago. Lived elsewhere for awhile then moved back. I came back and love Kirkland products. I even bought a membership for my ex and her mother! They're there every other Sunday to shop. I'm a bit more sporadic myself. I don't have a problem with organic products, but not everything is a buy. Some people shop price point. Just throwing that in there. A small bottle of organic pancake syrup for $10??? Again, ok for someone who wants that, but they should still have the alternative i.e. gallon jug for $10. Just saying, folks. I'm suprised they don't make...
