I had an absolutely HORRIBLE experience with Best Buy that I deeply regret. On 3/3/25, I purchased an Insignia fridge, and I was told the delivery would happen on 3/6/25, with a call one hour prior to delivery. I specifically requested that the delivery be after 5 PM because no one would be home before that, and I was told that they couldn't narrow it down any further. I would receive a call and text the night before confirming the delivery window, and on the 6th, I would know more about the time.
The night before, I got the text confirming a delivery window of 3 PM to 7 PM. Then, on the actual day, the delivery truck called me at 2:54 PM, just six minutes before the window even started. The delivery team, who were incredibly unprofessional and incompetent, told me they were already heading to Miami and had other deliveries before mine. They asked if I could meet them at the house early, despite being given the delivery window of 3-7 PM. I was with a client at the time and told them I couldn’t leave, so they said they’d just “wait” at my house. I made it clear that I wasn’t leaving my client unattended, especially since I was promised a call an hour ahead of time.
To make things worse, the delivery team insisted they were done for the day, and I was the last stop before they had to head to Miami. They asked if I could find someone to open the door for them I told them everyone was working. I explained again that I couldn’t promise anything, but I suggested they come back around 5 PM when someone could be there. They kept insisting that I was the last stop, and they were in a rush.
They finally arrived and waited, but Best Buy later informed me that they only give a 15-minute window for deliveries—something I was NEVER told about. After work, I head to the store and after more than 45 minutes waiting at Best Buy, I get a call from the Appliance Department Customer Service rep which resulted in my delivery getting "rescheduled" for 3/10/25 with a note to have it delivered at 5 PM, allegedly. I was told they’d try to get it to me sooner, it would be up to the third party company in charge of deliveries, but of course, that didn’t happen. The fridge showed up on 3/10/25 at 8:00 AM, completely ignoring my request for a delivery after 5 PM. I was left scrambling to drop my kid off at school and race back home to “receive” the delivery when I should have been heading to my job.
So, after three strikes (not delivering on 3/6, not delivering on 3/7, and delivering at the wrong time on 3/10), The only good part of this whole fiasco was the delivery team on the 10th, who were friendly and understanding of my frustration, they deserve a 5 start. Through them i learnt that they are all subcontracted by a third party who is subcontracted by Best Buy to do all these deliveries. But honestly, the whole experience was a nightmare.
It’s clear that Best Buy has no control over their deliveries, and I honestly wonder if I should just buy my appliances somewhere else from now on, like Home Depot or Lowe’s, to avoid this kind of headache in the future. Worst of all, I didn’t even get a real apology from anyone, everyone to some degree was passing the bucket. This was an incredibly frustrating, miserable experience, and I can’t recommend this service to anyone. My best suggestion is have the item delivered to your store. That's how i solved the similar experience with them last time, after a banged up new Stove I had purchased, they had no more in stock and I had to pick up the "demo" from the store as being the only one. I had a totally terrible and inefficient process with Geeksquad when I asked them to come to my office to do a site survey for TV and other equipment quotes; After going in person and requesting Geeksquad to come to my office to give me a quote.
After spending 1 hr with the Home theatre people in Best Buy in person describing my needs/situation.
They promised me that 2 different teams would come out (Never Happaned) from geek squad. They gathered all my information etc…. Total waste of my time
Then 2 weeks later, I called Geeksquad to report this and ask them to come out again. and payed for scheduled appts for Geeksquad to come out and do site surveys (spoke with person to coordinate and explained situation all over again).
3 days later I get another call from another guy Josh saying that he wanted to send people out to my office based on request and yet again had no idea what I needed and was asking questions and didn’t realize I had already payed for these site surveys.
So I told Josh that this system is massively flawed bc each employee from Best Buy or Geeksquad kept telling me NoOne had left them notes from their prior conversations with me ( so now I’m at about 3 hours of my time wasted) so I explain the situation yet again to Josh who reassured me these things would be in my file….
Saturday AM(the day of Scheduled site survey) on this day the Best Buy application is supposed to give you live updates and actually tracks your techs location,,,, shows when Tech Corey left fort Myers and when he should arrive (which is great, but …. It was totally making things up) says that I should be expecting one of the Geeksquad Rep’s to come by between 7:30-11a and when I hit “track progress it shows the guys coming to my office at 8:00A, with a real life tracker of the Tech named Casey, so I assumed it was accurate, and NADA!!!! I sit in my office 1 full hour, could NOT get a hold of anyone despite calling the 800 number,, then at 9a I get a call from Casey who has not left Fort Myers yet(despite application saying he left 1 hr before and was at my location- the application is totally flawed) and is planning to head to me in 1 hour from now, and then he asks me Why he is coming ….so oh by the way, this is 4th person yet again who had Zero clue why he was coming and or what my needs were.
I told Casey to politely piss off as this entire experience was a waste of my time and I cancelled the appt.
After 4 hrs of my personal time wasted. I can say without a shadow of a doubt that the Best Buy /Geeksquad communication system is the worst I have experienced in years and I will Never ever use them again . The incompetence level is super high, there is zero communication it respected for your time or needs. Total...
Read moreso for the third time today I went into my Best Buy store. Why ? Because I ordered a convection oven on 08/01/17 which was delivered to me 08/04/17 DAMAGED. I waited over 4 hours because they were also late just to get one where the paint was off on the top. Price was 599 of course I want a new one for that not a damaged one. So they took my old one I kept the damaged new one scheduled a redelivery 8 days later. Waited 4 hours again (of course no one has appointments or a life other than Best Buy) delievered damaged again. Couldn't believe and was way beyond frustrated already. How in the world..... Anyway scheduled an new redelivery again for today, cancelled all my appointments just to be available again for 4 hours. But last night on a short notice I received a call, redelivery is off because no more in stock. Projected new delivery 09/20/17 Really ? two months later ? No nothing just hey that's your new appointment. Well I won't be there then because I will be gone so let's even extend it out to October. And we don't even know if it gets delivered properly or damaged again until then. So I went to my store today to see what they could do for me. Or should I say what they would not do for me. I order appliances for 34 houses at Best Buy during the year just to name a few 3 dishwasher and more during this first half year. That is why I am called an elite member ? What does that mean ? Honestly. Nothing at all. I was given an option to another one but the difference was $111.00 something more. So really I should pay more on top for problems that I did not cause ? Not a chance. There is some helpful helpers in the store but they are tight to the managers decision in the Naples store and the managers don't do a thing at all. They don't even give you other option all they do is say No. And after this hopefully soon happening delivery (if I am still going to go with it) this is what I am saying now too. NO to Best Buy.
