Friday Latin Night: a mix of culturally diverse seniors, great music, and good drinks â and gangster attitudes.
My wife and I visited 57 Heaven for the first time last Friday to check out the Latin Night. We arrived shortly after 10 PM. I paid $10 at the door, my wife entered for free. We made our way to a hall located between the pool table and the bar. At that time, the place wasnât crowded (few available tables), but by 11, it was already packed.
The Good
Drinks: We each had two margaritas and were good. Not too sweet, sour, strong, or light â just the perfect balance. Our bartender, a young guy, was always available and quick to prepare them
Music: I liked the music. It was Latin all night and people were enjoying it. It was good to see the place promising a Latin night and actually delivering. Iâve been to places that try to please everyone â Jazz, Hip Hop, Rock, Latin â and end up pleasing no one. It was truly an authentic Latin Night.
The Bad
57 Heaven: Never occurred to me that the name might refer to the place being a âheavenâ for people nearing their 60s. It was lovely to see many seniors having fun, from using tango steps to dance reggaeton to wearing flashy outfits like the jacket Michael Jackson wore to sing âWe Are the Worldâ. But being in our 30s, we were expecting to join a younger crowd with similar tastes. We stepped outside for a moment to smoke, and a woman started to tell a guy, who neither asked nor seemed interested, that she was 47 years old, but no one believed her, because she supposedly looked younger. I donât think the guy believed her either.
Gangster Attitudes: Every party seems to have at least one guy looking to fight for no reason. This issue is not unique to 57 Heaven but noticed a higher than usual number of these âwannabe gangsters.â A few of them would greet each other with kisses on the cheek, emulating the Sicilian mafia. Iâd suggest adding a metal detector in addition to the thorough physical check you are subjected to looking for weapons at the door.
Another Negative Note: There were too many single guys on the hunt that night.
Conclusion: The Latin Night atmosphere at 57 Heaven has its lights and shadows. The crowd is culturally diverse, mostly averaging in their 50s or older. The music is Latin as advertised, drinks are of decent quality and quickly served. But, I felt that for moments, the place aspired to be the new filming location of the next...
Read moreI would like to share my experience with 57 Heaven. Iâm not a party person nor a drinker (but it doesnât matter if you are or not , you are going to have a BLAST with D.J. JASON) BUT if you want a great place to go and have a great time listening and dancing to the great COUNTRY MUSIC ON THURSDAY NIGHTS FROM 7 pm -until ? You can line dance, two-step or dance however you want to the fantastic songs that Jason plays all night long on Thursday. THERE IS NOT A COVER CHARGE FOR THURSDAY. I know you have to work on Friday but they open at 7:00 pm and you can leave early enough to get a good night sleep. We want to build COUNTRY NIGHT up. Thereâ s no place in town to go to for All Country except 57 Heaven and I donât think people realize they have a pure country night! Come by and check it out!!!!! EVERY...
Read moreI visited this Latin music bar and had a really fun night. The atmosphere was lively from the moment we walked in, and the music kept a great energy throughout the night. They played a mix of Latin hits that made the whole place feel warm, upbeat, and welcoming.
Our server, Eli, was amazing. She was friendly, attentive, and checked on us often without ever making us feel rushed. Her attitude really added to the experience and made us feel comfortable the whole time.
The overall vibe of the bar was great: good music, good service, and a crowd that seemed to be genuinely enjoying themselves. Even without taking photos or videos, itâs the kind of place you remember because of how it made you feel. I definitely recommend it for anyone looking to enjoy a night out with real Latin flavor and...
