
I usually dont post reviews because we all have one of those days and people we as humans deserve patience and grace at times. I leave great and sometimes not so great reviews because i believe in give commendation when due. This review is for the planet fitness in Orange Park on Wells Rd. I visit different ones justvto get a change of scenery. I usually visit this location at night. The night crew is helpful and informative. They informed me of the red light machinery and I was sold on the information provided. They attempted to show me how it worked but I didnt t have the time at that moment and told them I would be back on Friday morning. I get here this morning and requested the red light machine. I knew I had to purchase the goggles since I was informed they were mandatory. I tried paying in exact cash which Brandi informed me they no longer take cash anymore. No sign posted or anything provided to inform on the changes made. So I try to pay with the account they have on file. I was told She couldn't do that. So I had to end up going back to my car to get credit card. I requested the red light machinery and ask If I could be shown how the machine operates. Brandi said she and no one else would be able to show me. I then asked for someone I could speak with and she initially replied, " What can they tell you that I can't ". I then asked her, who was the GM or franchise owner and what time they would be in so that I can share my experience. She refused but then provided me with the name Melissa. Never had such an experience like this before with Planet Fitness no matter which one I would go to. The Employees are always informative and helpful. Cognitive of the fact that knowledge on using the machines initially is helpful.. I went into the red light machine, hoping it was simple to use. On 4/19/23 apx 2pm, I checked in at the front desk to scan my ID with no problems, I headed to the treadmill to begin my workout. I was about 3 minutes into my workout, when an older disgruntled looking employee named Melissa stopped me and told me I needed to come up front. I was very confused on why I was being stopped from my workout, and being escorted to the front desk. She swung her computer around towards me, and informed me I was 2 days passed overdue! I couldn't believe I was stopped from my workout for this! She then proceeded to talk down towards me with a disrespectful tone and facial expression. Very embarrassing treatment! She then stated " You need to pay! How are we doing this?! " I was very upset with the treatment I recieved from Melissa. She definitely could have handled the payment issue more professionally and treated me a customer since 2016 with more respect. I have never had any gym do anything like this! I was very frustrated and walked outside to collect my thoughts. I have money, payment wasn't the issue. My pf is set on a separate account from my bank, all I had to do was transfer the 25 dollars. I decided I wanted to cancel my membership and never go back to PF because of the treatment I received. I then went back inside to cancel my membership. Melissa refused, stated " I will not cancel your membership and you can leave for the day!" She was very argumentative and arrogant with me. Read moreThe absolute worst.. called in 3 times before actually going into to cancel my membership (after my year was up) and was told no fee would be assessed. Went in to cancel and was told that there WOULD in fact be a fee... when I told the associate no I was told there wouldn’t be before I even came down she switched computers and had another associate help me out.. mind you this new associate heard me tell her no and said NOTHING about a fee after he started helping me.. when I opened my bank account the following day a fee had in fact been charged... called in to speak to someone and the associate not only mocked me but hung up on me.. THE ABSOLUTE WORST TATSE IN MY MOUTH FOR THIS ENTIRE COMPANY... as if all of that is not bad enough I’ve been with them for a year and the entire time they have had my name under somebody else’s name but charging my card.. I had asked for a year to change it and they never did.. just very poor quality.. if you want to avoid a head ache being mocked and hung up on sign up for LA fitness retro fitness baileys fitness or literally ANYWHERE else than planet fitness.... just avoid it all together seriously NOT worth the frustration it is now going to take to get my money back... the most uncomfortable experience I’ve ever had from any fitness company.. pay more money for better quality, trust me...
