Not impressed. We arrived with a 15 min wait, an empty lobby and plenty of seating available just needing to be cleaned off. In that time we watched about 10-15 people get seated ahead of us within a "35 min" time frame. Us as well as the other people who were waiting beside us we're getting extremely upset and confused as of why this was happening. My husband went and asked what was going on. The man Mark, up at the counter said that people made online reservations and they are able to jump ahead on the list. My husband stated, "That is unfair, if that's the case it should be posted as such online or on the front door." The man dismissed him with "OK". We then proceeded to wait. As the lobby and outside filled up to the point of overflowing. We again watched numerous people walk in, "check-in" and get seated before us. After about another 10 more minutes of that happening my husband went back up to ask when we'd be seated. The man Mark, who's apparently the manager, said we have a table now. As we're following him to sit down, my husband again said you really should post something for your local patrons who are coming in and not "checking-in" that they'll be seated behind those online reservations. It's not fair that they're jumping ahead of others without notice. This "manager" literally said to my husband, " We're just following the list BRO." My husband felt dismissed, disrespected and did not appreciate being addressed as BRO. My husband then said to Mark, " Well that policy is bullshit BRO!" Guess what? Mark didn't like being addressed as BRO either. So then he proceeded to tell my husband that if he was going to have an attitude he would have to leave. NOT I'M SORRY, I WILL MAKE SURE THAT SOMEONE IS NOTIFIED OF YOUR CONCERN. NOTHING! HE OFFERED NO SYMPATHY WHATSOEVER IN THE SITUATION AND HIS ATTITUDE TOWARDS THE SITUATION HEIGHTENED IT, IT DID NOT RESOLVE IT. I was able to get between them and calm the situation but it should have never of happened in the first place. As a manager you should never address your customers as bro, dismiss their concerns without any sort of remorse or not offer some sort of an apology ect. I own my own business and my husband's over a department as well of his company. If we treated our customers this way we wouldn't have a job. I ordered the eggs benedict the hollandaise sauce was so lemony it was overwhelming. My husband enjoyed his French toast. However, just for the simple fact that we were treated the way that we were we will most likely not visit there again.
We also double checked the website for ANYTHING to indicate that this occurs. Low and behold there is nothing indicating that people can do this anywhere. The website specifically says that when they do an online WAIT-LIST request, in capital letters that it is NOT a reservation. Also there is nothing posted anywhere inside that this jumping ahead of people who...
Read moreFull disclosure, let me start off by saying that we are regular customers at First Watch locations wherever we can find one in our travels. Primarily we go to the one in Panama City Beach or this one in Pensacola. I know that everybody's entitled to a bad day and we know the quality that you should be able to expect unfortunately, today did not meet those expectations. It started off with our server having an attitude and not being as typically happy and friendly as we've come to know servers at First Watch to be. Iasked for a soda and glass of water when we sat down and ordered our drinks. When she brought out the glass for me for my water, it had food Parts stuck to the inside of it. So I said it aside on the corner of the table out of the way and nothing was ever said by our server or the manager as to why that glass was over out of the way. When we ordered our meals, I ordered The Farmhouse that had eggs any style on it, and I like my eggs with the yolk runny, so I told our server that and she insisted that I decide whether I wanted them sunny side up or over-easy or whatever and I said I didn't care as long as the yolks came out soft and runny. So she said well I'm putting it in over easy then. Okay, so we waited and got our food and sure enough the egg yolks were hard and there was no liquid yolk to it. Also, my meal was supposed to have cheddar and monterey jack cheese but I found none on it. The avocado slices on both mine and my wife's plates were sad, they had brown spots and were very thinly sliced. My wife managed to snag the manager and bring my eggs to his attention and he offered to make another plate of eggs but I was already halfway through my meal at that point. Plus I didn't figure they'd do any better the second time around. So I told him just comp me for my dish and I'd leave it at that. So he comped me an employee discount at 50% on my dish. When we checked out and paid the bill, I did leave a 15% tip for our server which surprised the manager that we were doing that after our experience today. So, like I say I know everybody's entitled to a bad day and apparently this was theirs, but we know they...
Read moreI've visited FW in several different regions over the last couple years on numerous occasions. As busy as this Pensacola North location was upon arrival, with a decent amount of bustle, still we observed the staff working exceptionally hard in a completely packed dining room on two different occasions here. As it turns out on both of our visits to the Pensacola first watch, our server Denise absolutely hit it out of the park.
It was hard to make sense of how busy it is here-- that is what is is we were seeing at first because the location was quite busy both times (a 25 minute wait and a 40-minute wait, respectively). You may have thought for a moment that the staff was being short with the people, but instead they were handling it!!! Our server Denise absolutely nailed the greetings, the drinks, the ordering, the follow up, and honestly even the unspoken visits after...
The food was superb. I have had the Traditional, the Floridian French toast, the seasonal donuts, the morning meditation, the coffee, the unsweetened tea, and of course the $1,000,000 bacon. The Floridian French toast had the ideal ratio of fresh fruit to Toast for this hungry one. The traditional comes with a jelly for the toast, meat, hash browns or grits, and eggs It is an overall great value. The eggs were better the first visit as scrambled than on our second foray, but no complaints as such...just a comparison to how fresh and hot they were the first time versus the second where they had reached their half-life (seemed to have been waiting a while before being served up). This is easy to do with eggs and they still were hslf decent, as semi-cool eggs go.
My people have ordered other things as well and have likewise also been delighted in the quality of both food and presentation. Very good on all accounts and looking forward...
