We came once as a party of four in December 2019 and we were sat in the front room. Everything was great! We came back yesterday (Jan 2020) with more family members as a party of 8 and were sat in the back room. This time, everything was a disaster. There was a lot wrong here but ultimately, our experience shows that this place has poor management.
First of all I wanna start saying that my review is more as a constructive criticism to help you guys fixing some issues that probably you haven’t notice yet or probably you guys could fix easy and soon. The staff do their best and they’re very attentive people, I have to admit their service was good so people from the FOH got well done their job, but BOH (Cooks) didn’t put enough effort or caution while cooking I know that ticket time for a well done plate could take you a maximum of 20 minutes but on top of that waiting time came out over and under cook that’s unacceptable, my sister in law order a Mofongo stuffed with shrimp and they over cook it till the point you can feel it was burned tasting. The managers take care of it and make a new plate to go and that one came out good, remember shrimp is something you get done in 3 to 5 minutes on the charbroil. Also I order a Lomo de cerdo stuffed with arroz con gandules and gotta say that the rice on it was good but I personally don’t like it to feel the rice with the sauce that I think it was like a plantain sauce because it make it feel like gummy rice, also on my two sides that came included in the plate I order French fries and fried plantains (tostones) two of the tostones and few of the French fries were undercooked (crudas) and money wise talking I found it kind of pricey remember is not gourmet cuisine is typical (comida criolla) from PR and the area and local wasn’t that worth it. I took two or three pictures of the sun hitting me on my back and gotta said that after getting off from an amusement park wasn’t the best feeling I was hoping to get some good seats or table but unfortunately the windows and doors weren’t tinted with a more dark tint or at least a good blinders to take care of that so that’s why I’m saying some stuff hope you guys can fix and get better at. In my experience I will not be a returning customer, I really love to recommend my friends and family good places specially our restaurants spots from the island but this time I won’t recommend it. The two stars rated and not only one is because the...
Read moreWith excitement to try the new dish, "The Parillada Marinera," my husband and son went to Grillers in Kissimmee tonight. Disappointed is a small word to describe our experience. From the very beginning, things started going wrong.
First of all we were informed they didn't have the grilled octopus tentacles and they could only offer to warm up the already made octopus salad. When I asked about the lobster tail Wilson informed us it would be an additional $42.00 to an already whopping $146.95 plate. Not even at a high end place, have I ever paid that much for one lobster tail. At that point, we should have walked out, but hunger drove us to give it a shot.
In addition to the Parillada, we ordered a side of tostones and white rice and beans. The disappointment continued. The tostones were stale and cold. The Parillada was a disaster: The shrimp was skewed without being devained and it was over cooked, dried and tasteless, the squid was like rubber and tasteless, flavorless fried fish, and rice swimming in oil.
When our waiter, Wilson asked how everything was, we expressed our disappointment in the food, but no one addressed our concern. It seemed the owner, Jose Martin, who was present that night likely felt one unhappy family wasn't worth addressing; however, in the end, a lack of response speaks volumes on his customer satisfaction. Word of mouth and a strong social media presence are easily tarnished by unhappy customers, and poor reviews speak for themselves.
This was our experience, and I wanted to share it. From reading the reviews on here, it seems many others have had the unpleasant experience with the extremely expensive and tasteless parillada. Grillers, take note: customers deserve to be heard, and neglecting their feedback is a surefire way to lose future customers. Read the reviews!! People are...
