One star is far too kind. My family and I are huge fans of the franchise as a whole; this night ruined it for everyone (dramatic intro... I'm going somewhere, hang tight). Decided to drive out to the store on 17th in Sarasota to get a large stuffed crust specialty works pizza and heart shaped cheese bread for the family for Valentine's Day. I made the mistake of not verifying the accuracy of the order placed online when I took it away from the counter (I know, could have all been avoided if I had done this part) and returned home with a large cheese pizza (no toppings; very disappointing but not a reason to provide negative public feedback). I called the store and spoke with either Erin or Anna (depending upon which version of "Abraham's" story we believe...but I'm getting ahead of myself) who never apologized or made any attempt to make right the wreckage that had become my Valentine's Day dinner. She instructed me to bring back the pizza for either a replacement (what I actually ordered, perhaps?) or a refund (of course, there was the whole HUNGRY thing). I suggested that (as a provider of delivered pizzas and sundry oven baked goods) they rather deliver to me that for which I had already paid and picked up on my own dime (I told them to deliver it). When she pushed back I argued that I was right around the corner from the store (4.7 miles, I literally JUST drove it) and she asked for the address. After placing me on a 45-60 second hold (I know, not absolutely unacceptable but the experience was quickly turning sour and I was hungry...for pizza...a specialty-works-pizza) she returned with a firm "NO, you are not right around the corner." I argued that 4.7 miles within the scope of the store's average delivery was, in fact, right around the corner. When it became clear that she could not would not make this right I asked to speak to the manager. He was equally implacable. At this point my wife tagged in and wanted the name and contact information for the operator of this franchise...Abraham refused. To that operator I say, you are cutting costs by hiring high school kids and apparently refusing to empower them to create Raving Fans. This is a sad day, indeed; the mighty Hungry Howie's name has a black eye and I doubt I shall ever bother to call them again for pizza (well, not THAT one anyway...I'm not stupid, I'll still get my HH Buffet on at a store that takes care of its customer!) Here's the thing in a nutshell: I paid for goods and services that were not delivered, I invested my own time and money over and above the value of the transaction in order to complete this transaction, then I was told that I must invest more of my own time and money to provide the store with the opportunity to make things right. This is not...
Read moreDo yourself a favor and don't order from this place. If I could leave a zero star I would. No fault of the staff, but Horrible store policy. They didn't show me the order and unfortunately I didn't check that it was right myself before I left the store, but realized once I got home and some of my family had already dug in that they messed up my order. In order to get the correct one made, they wanted the messed up pizza (that was already eaten out of) back. I wanted them to deliver it to make the exchange since I already drove there, in the middle of a pandemic no less, to pick it up. They said they were too busy to send a driver and I had to BRING it back! When I said I wanted a partial refund instead, they said they could only do store credit! never want to order from there again at this point, so why would I want store credit?! It got to the point that I called the Store Owner, Abraham, and he couldn't care less! I've never been to any food place where they wanted me to replace half eaten, possibly contaminated food (again, pandemic) in order to get the correct order, and wouldn't even offer a refund of some kind. I returned the half-eaten pizza and got the replacement, but I plan to contact the corporation to report this...
Read moreMy staff and I order here often. The last several times we have picked up our orders, the manager, Robert, asks for tips. Today, I went to pick up the order because the others were uncomfortable going due to this guy's obnoxiousness. Once he put the pizzas and receipts on the counter, he pointed out I could leave a tip. I signed the receipts, picked up the boxes from the counter, he said "Awe, no tip". I was ignoring him on purpose, not to be rude but because I was focused on the grease running down the front of my shirt. As I was walking out the door, he yelled "Come on, no tip!". While I understand money is tight for everyone and tips are appreciated, I felt it was incredibly rude of this man to ask for a tip and then to announce to anyone within earshot that I had not left one. Mind you, this was not during peak hours, and they were not busy. This was not a delivery, and I did not get waited on. When I returned it was discovered the sodas where not present and the pepperoni pizza had no pepperoni on it. Here's a tip Robert, DO BETTER! Remember kids, stay in school and...
