I was at this restaurant on 9/4/25 and I ordered the Caribbean shrimp burger. The shrimp burger had a long black hair cooked inside of it. The bartender took it back to the kitchen and said they would remake it. Mind you, I had to wait a reasonable amount of time for them to remake my food. The manager never came over to address the hair being in my food, didn’t apologize or offer to comp my entree. By the end of my visit, I noticed my bill had voided the shrimp burger but it was added back on. I asked to speak to the manager Victor and asked him was he aware I had hair in my food. He said yes. I said as a customer who is suggested to pay 18% gratuity, I expect to receive good customer service and quality food. He told me he was not comping my meal and proceeded to say, “but you got your food”. This is not how someone in management handles a situation with a customer who received food with hair in it. Victor was not friendly, nor did he apologize for the incident. He should not be in restaurant management at all. The bartender Anne was wonderful. I’m just very sorry I couldn’t tip her as appropriate because her manager couldn’t provide decent customer service. I will not be dining here again

With a red eye from LAX, we needed to replenish our bodies before our haul to the Bahamas and stumbled upon the Islander Bar for breakfast. While the atmosphere was casual and welcoming, I was a bit disappointed that they don’t offer complimentary water—you have to purchase a bottle, which felt a little inconvenient. That said, I ordered the corned beef, and it was surprisingly hella good—tender, flavorful, and cooked just right. The portion size was generous, making for a satisfying start to our day. On our return flight, we had another stop in Miami and decided to grab a burger before heading home. The burger was well seasoned, juicy, and cooked to order, with a side of hot, crispy fries that hit the spot. I have to say, the service was good both times—friendly staff who made us feel welcomed and attended to our needs promptly. Overall, despite a few minor inconveniences, our experiences at both places were positive, and I’d definitely consider returning for the tasty food and friendly service.

To have Christy as a waitress is such a disservice to a restaurant that the owner probably had worked tirelessly to make their restaurant what it is today. Maybe the owners have put years of work into the menu - or a lifetime. Christy was rude and unpleasant. Her customer service skills require a lot of improvement, the way she refers to the customer and the tone of her voice is such that resembles the tone of an angry wife or just an unhappy human. I feel sorry both for christy and the restaurant owners. We came to drink and eat, but her service had such low and bad quality we decided took the food to go and didn’t order drinks. If I could give zero stars to Christy, I would. Also the food was… meh!

I’m not sure who the server is they don’t wear name tags but we sat at the bar and the short lady with blonde-ish hair was horrible. I have never been treated so badly I would normally talk to a manager but there doesn’t seem to be any one who knows what they are doing around. We only at here because it’s practically in our gate but if I had to choose again I would switch my flight to be able to not have to see her again. We are returning home from our wedding and after waiting about 15 mins which was expected she came over and we said hello he just said hi very angrily so we said hi how are you she said we’re you gonna get something to drink so we told her the drink we wanted and she very angrily left. So we said whatever and came back with the drinks then left again and didn’t say anything. She finally came back and said “did we plan on having some food?” So we told her our order which was just the wings and the burger and she rolled her eyes walked away came back slammed condiments down in from of us along with some plastic forks but gave everyone else silverware. And never came back to check on us or ask us how we were doing and just completely ignored us the rest of the time. When we finally went to pay our receipt was messed up and we asked a question about why the total was significantly higher than it was supposed to when my husband asked she very loudly in front of everyone said “that’s not your total the other one is” which we didn’t know because it just said total so he said okay. She then said “so you were trying to lower the gratuity” which yes we were because the service and food were horrible and after that others were staring at him and she knew it and kept hounding him thankfully he just said yep and walked away. When we sat down, it took our server more than 10 minutes to get our drink order, and right from that moment it seemed like she didn’t want to be there. Stone cold stare and a monotone voice was red flag number 1. She didn’t greet us except for a single “hello” so we didn’t even know if we could order anything. After waiting another 10 minutes for our food order to get taken, we got our food after about 20 minutes after that. The burger was okay, but the fries were terribly unseasoned and lukewarm at best. The wings were nothing special either. While eating, our server never checked in on us to ask how anything was except at the very end when we were already finished and ready to pay. After reading other reviews, we saw that some people were charged the full included gratuity even after trying to change it. I held on to my receipts to ensure I can dispute this charge so try my bank in case of any funny business. We also tried to use meal vouchers from our missed flight the night before, yet after looking over the final receipt, everything was charged in full. So I went back to the counter to ask if my meal vouchers were used and she not only dug my receipt out of the trash, but also was loud and passive aggressive when telling me that everything was fine. Food was fair-what blew me away though was that the waitress added her own tip of 18%. It was very confusing as I almost made the error of adding almost another 15%. It was only me and my husband dining. She did explain that I had the option of "adjusting " her tip after she added the tip for herself. I was just shocked at the audacity of just adding your own tip of 18% to a party of two. No one knows peoples' budget and no one has the right to just add his/her own tip. It left a negative taste for me after my meal.

Update 5/5/19: OK, so I have been watching my checking account to see if the waitress adjusted my bill to reflect the adjustment to the tip that she gifted herself by just basically going into my checking account and deciding that she was going to give herself 18% from our isn't checking account. To my shock, she still has not adjusted the $$ and is keeping the tip she gave to herself. So a simple lunch has now cost me almost $72.00. What the HELL is this????? I'm so dismayed that I have now adjusted the rating to a one-star and advise anyone thinking of going there to NOT go. Airport food is airport food. That practice of unethically going into folks checking accounts to gift/ tip yourself without the permission of the customer is simply wrong.
