Jimmy’s Place — Restaurant in Florida

Sadly this used to be a very nice little neighborhood breakfast lunch spot. I say sadly because it’s gone through a string of owners buying it from pet that had no restaurant experience and ran it into the ground. The new owners generally had less experience than those trying to get out. As a result the last ten years it’s gone from really delicious breakfast items and really tasty well prepared burgers hot/ cold sandwiches and a strong menu of lunchtime dinners, soup, salad and hot dinners as an option to sandwich. I had hoped this newest owner would do better but after two years or so doesn’t seem to be happening.

As well you may NOT want to eat here if you are a Conservative, a Republican and wish to eat with friends, or other customers about shared political opinions. There are a lot of people including the owner and server staff whom. Are pro liberal and verbally tell you you’re not allowed to discuss politics with guys you know and whom share your opinion. I n fact. There is an older couple that make it their business to go to several local eateries, seek out people who are conservative, then they pick an argument with you about politics, and later when things get heated they turn around and tell the staff it was all youre fault, not theirs for actually starting it? This happened to me this insane couple has a history of seeking me out, starting a political verbal fight and then blaming me for starting it. The staff there knows this , they always take the aggressors side and blame you for standing up for your first amendment and human rights to have an opinion. About six months ago during the election the owner, again took their side after they sought me out and verbally started an argument, of course I defended myself and told them to get out of my personal space, to they then blamed the event on me again, of course. The owner took their side even though he has video security cameras that would show exactly who the aggressor was. He took their side yet again and banished me from eating at the restaurant. I’ve been eating at that cafe for 20 years daily and that is the end result for my loyalty. Honestly the only reason I continue going the last couple years was the many people I know that also wear there. It’s completely okay with me, actually the owner probably did me a favor kicking me out the food and service have come to really suck and not the same quality as had been. I would caution any conservative to think about not eating here as well. I’ve found several better options and won’t be back these in the photo. This is a local breakfast and lunch shop that is only open five (5) days a week. Their main offers revolve around breakfast, but they do offer some sandwiches that support a lunch crowd.

We visited on a Sunday after church. There are two (2) competitors providing the same fare within one (1) mile north of the location. We found the food to be smaller portions and not nearly the same quality as the other two (2) local breakfast joints. My wife had a skillet that was small in comparison. I had an average club sandwich with limited fries. The food was nothing special.

As for service, it was terrible. We were poorly greeted after about five (5) minutes and rushed through the process. My wife asked if the skillet had hashbrowns and was told by Diane (our server) that it did. However, the potatoes were chunked home fries, not hashbrowns. Diane rarely came around and failed to provide me with extra mayonnaise. My wife had to go to the counter to get it.

Then, when we got the bill they charge a 4% credit card fee. This fee is not disclosed on the door, the front signs, or the menus - but they add it on anyways.

I have been going here with my mom for the past year and the I really liked the place and food and service Sheila and Diane are awesome so this past Thursday I went with my mom to have breakfast and as soon as we sat down I started to get bit by something and my leg was itching so bad and I went to look at my let and I seen some bug on my leg bitting me well I killed it and put it in my napkin to show my server Sheila and asked her if anyone ever said that they got bit because this has happened before to me when I went there back in August well she said no and I showed her the bug and she took it to show the boss/owner and I said it looked like a bed bug well come to find out I got a call from someone who works there and it was bed bugs they were all over under my seat cushion and the owner had gotten other complaints that they had got bites too so be ware if you go there you might just leave with bites and bed bugs I will never...
