On a Friday night why not take it advantage go for a walk to do some errands and some exercise to enjoy the start of the weekend. After all the errands we’re done the wife and I spotted this must small pizza place and said what the heck let’s give it a chance. We walked in, and we’re immediately greeted by the young lady in front (Melissa) and she was very patient with us as she explained most of the items on the menu and the toppings and the different arrangements they had. The interior is nicely decorated. They were playing music and have plenty of seating. We decided to order the three pizza special, the focaccia bread with pesto sauce, and the Nutella dessert. The food tasted fresh, was generous portion, was made quickly but most important the service was exceptional. Melissa really did a spectacular job. We had a pleasure of meeting one of the cooks. (Victor) and he was absolutely the bomb. You could tell when he was talking about the food preparation the passion he had for cooking as well as the pride he had in his dishes. Overall, we had a great experience, and it was nice to see a small business treat you with this personal touch that most big businesses lack. This is one of the major reasons that we support small businesses that only because of the local people are employees, but because of the personal touch as it gives you that you will find in any of these large chain restaurants. Great job Melissa & Vítor. If you are looking to have a good meal at a nice place, as well as a casual atmosphere this place won’t...
Read moreHOLY WOW!! I've driven by this pizza shop every single time i've gone to Dadeland Station Shops... I always looked as I've driven by; the shop itself is so cute and looked like a welcoming shop - not uptight and not a shi-shi establishment like some Miami locales. ANYWAYS. Today, with Isaias on the agenda, I decided to finally check out the shop after picking up my items from Target.
AMAZING. i'm so glad i decided to pop in. It's a really unsuspecting shop and could be easy to miss. Theres parking right out front and BC (before coronavirus), i recall them having out door seating. It is so delicious and one of the best pizzas i've had stateside. Though I'm impartial to pizza napolitana, romana iis DELICIOUS. I ordered the basil/mozz/sundried tomato and the porcini mushroom/arugula pizza. I inhaled it otherwise I wouldve uploaded a photo. I got 3 slices for $12 and it was just perfect. The last time I had solid pizza was in Milan this january and then again when I was back home in NYC. Pizza here in Miami is hard to find a satiating and delicious one... I'm glad I found this spot and that I live so close to it! Questo e`...
Read moreThis place is different; it was created as a school to teach the true art of Roman style pizza making which, I assure you, is not just any pizza.
Flour, for starting's , is not just any flour but a coarser version made out of soft wheat. Fermentation of the dough, is allowed for longer and finally, the oven cooking is done in two steps. Then we get to the toppings which bring the final product to a higher level than what I have tasted in Miami, so far.
I visited the place only once, prompted by info provided by an insider. The place is not located in an easy to find location, remember that it started as a training school for "pizzaiolos" . Menu is limited, believe due to the fact the place has not been discovered by the public. My advise is, go and have a couple of slices in situ. You will not regret it.
ps. We did so and took a whole pizza home. It reheats...
