I love love Peruvian food and it really is one of my favorite cuisines. My boyfriend has always eaten at this location because its close to his work and he always raved that its a cheap eat with huge portions so everyone in his office often eats there. I finally went with him looking for a cheap but delicious meal which they definitely delivered. This is no fine dining spot and I think it was an old Pizza Hut transformed so there are tables for you to sit and eat at after ordering at the counter. I was pretty surprised by the extensive menu they have----many of the Peruvian classics are offered here (ceviche, antichucho, chauffa, and saltados) so any preference can find something tasty here. The best part is how well priced everything is!
I decided to go for the lomo saltado and my boyfriend ordered the chicken chaufa (chicken fried rice). Both of our meals came out fast and still steaming which tells me that they cook everything here to order. My lomo saltado was huge and had great flavor. My boyfriends fried rice was even bigger and could easily feed two people. I loved that they used fresh ingredients in his rice which made it colorful and flavorful. Their sauce bar is no joke----they have many types of sauces and a house made creamy onion salsa that I ended up taking home to make tuna sandwiches with which was delicious!
Will definitely be coming back since its a superior La Granja that delivers on authentic Peruvian flavors. I appreciate the prices and can see myself bringing others when trying to eat on a...
Read moreThis is my go to whenever I don't feel like cooking and want something fast where I can be in and out , even if I don't order ahead. And the chicken doesn't taste like it was stuffed with chemicals to last longer , unlike 2 other fast food chicken chains in the neighborhood. Also, when you walk in for a take out right before closing time (which I hate doing, but it happens ), employees still welcome you with a smile and are happy to help you with whatever you need. Isabel took care of me tonight, and even though she was performing closing duties , she took time to suggest and explain some menu items that I wasn't familiar with, for the next time I come in. And she's the reason I'm writing this review. She was absolutely wonderful. Below are the pictures of my food that I ordered right before closing time to take out. And trust me, it tastes just as good as it looks. At other 2 places mentioned earlier, at closing time, you would usually get a dried out , hard and tasteless piece that looks like it shrunk 4 sizes , and an employee with an attitude. So, for all of you that are unhappy and taking stars off because to- go boxes didn't have compartments (how dare they? Lol) or because they don't have coupons and punch cards for "loyal" (read: cheap) customers, or the owner tried to hit you because you complained about portion size ,etc... please stay home and eat your TV dinner ( I hear the box has compartments and $1 coupon), and save your suggestions for when you start your own business, and let...
Read moreThe worst experience I could have had when entering this restaurant on Sunday night at around 10 pm I went to buy my dinner as I do repeatedly and when I was going to the bathroom to wash my hands because I had dirty hands the lady who served me told me that the bathroom was closed and could no longer be used so I told her that my hands were dirty and that I was going to eat that I needed to wash my hands and she told me no and I didn't ask for paper and she didn't answer me I asked the other lady who was cleaning the dining room and they didn't respond either, I don't know if it's because they didn't understand that I was speaking to them in English until the lady who was inside cleaning in the kitchen kindly gave me a paper towel with a little water, which was what I was asking for. I placed my order and she even gave me the food with a bad attitude. How can those types of people serve customers with that attitude. They should have friendly people who also know how to speak English. Because we are in the United States, we are not in a country where...
