We decided to go here while waiting on our pet during her grooming appt. I needed to be close, so when we got the call to pick her up, we could get there quickly. It's a cute little place. Seems popular with the locals. It was a bit loud as far as the customers went. The cook in an open kitchen was much quieter ๐ the seating arrangement makes it a bit too close for comfort for me. Not because of the spread of germs. Tbh, I'm not thar worried because germs will be where they'll be. It was the noise level for me. We had women sitting behind us on one side & a lady with her toddler on the other. There wouldn't generally be an issue. As there were several other customers also sitting around us. It was just having these particular tables of people with as loud as they were being. Which is no fault of the diner. I just know next time where to sit ๐ The menu has a good variety on it. A little something for everyone. My husband had a cheeseburger with fries & coleslaw. He very much enjoyed his meal. I tasted 1 fry, and honestly, it was perfect. True diner fries.
I ordered a breakfast plate with a cheese omelet, grits, and side of hash browns. Which believe me....it was all really good....in the moment ๐ I'll be the 1st to sat though. If your gut can handle the grease. You'll do just fine. Myself, I've suffered from gut issues now for several years, so if you don't have those issues. I applaud you ๐ I begin eating healthier, so as soon as i ear something that isn't. It's a wrap for a few days. Best believe I suffered a few days afterward. So just know that as food as the food is.... if you have a sensitive stomach. Just go as clean as you can with what's offered. But doesn't that defeat the purpose of a diner๐ Otherwise, the place was clean. There was one cook, one waitress. The cook actually delivered my food. Which I thought was really nice of him. He appears to cook everything fresh, and that seems to be why it takes some time for the food to get to you. The waitress is super sweet and appears to work very hard. The bathroom was also clean as we went in upon arriving to wash our hands.
All in all, I have to say I would recommend this little diner. The cook did an excellent job on the food (prefer less grease for me, but it works for others) the waitress was wonderful. The variety of customers ranged from younger folks to seniors. Minus the few very noisy customers, it was otherwise not bad at all. The decor is cute. Has a "classic" feel to it. I'm sure if I were a local in this area. I have to stop by from time to time. Oh yea! They have old time milk shakes! No, I didn't get to enjoy one but maybe we can get back that way...
ย ย ย Read moreThis was our second visit. Last Saturday we had bacon, eggs, grits, biscuits, sausage gravy. EVERYTHING was delicious!! The biscuits melt in your mouth! The service was excellent! Renee was our server, and we met Paul, the owner. They both thanked us for coming in. Great experience, so we went again today... It took us awhile to be greeted and be given menus, but the man was extremely friendly. We then learned, our server, Kelley (sp?) was on her own, on her first day, as her trainer way unable to come to work. She did not miss a beat! She apologized for any delay... there really wasn't one after we got our menus. We told her we were very patient and understanding, as long as she kept our coffee cups full, and she sure did! We'd have never known it was her first day if she'd not told us! She was very pleasant! I got a bagel sandwich with bacon, egg, cheese, tomato. It was so good! Bagels are often tough or too thick if it's not what the restaurant primarily does, but this was perfect! We are fans for sure!! But... I have two suggestions for the owner(s) 1)Don't explain why something goes wrong.... just make it right! In the food and beverage world nothing is perfect, just offer the best service possible, which Kelley definitely did!! 2) get one of the those tall waving signs by the road the says "we serve the best grits" because the grits are DELISH!!! And sadly you set back from the road in a strip mall where people don't automatically notice you! Please give this small local business a try. You will not be...
ย ย ย Read moreCame to this diner around 12:30ish on 01/31/2025 and it wasn't busy. The staff was amazing and very attentive. I believe the manager/owner came out to ensure that we enjoyed everything which was refreshing. Food tastes homemade and was excellent.
I had the breakfast that is listed first on the menu (sorry, cant remember what it was called) and it came with grits, one egg, 2 breakfast sausage, and toast. It is not very often that you can get grits cooked properly but I was very satisfied. My husband got the Big Daddy Breakfast and he was stuffed by the time he was done. Definitely worth the cost.
Everything was very flavorful and the staff was very attentive, as stated above. The waitress was unsatisfied with the look of my toast and remade it even though I did not think it was necessary.
I would definitely recommend this place if you are looking to get away from the big corporate places and have a nice relaxing breakfast or lunch.
They can get busy so the wait could be a little long but it would...
