I am going to explain the full experience from beginning to end. When we first went in we were not greeted pleasantly, granted they were quite busy. But it just felt pretty unwelcoming. Once we were sat in a corner booth we quickly noticed how packed it was, I would like to mention I am aware it is a diner, and I’ve been to plenty that still honor the some what “6 feet apart” rule. Maybe not even a full 6 feet, but at least where my back is not right on top of the person behind me. Our server greeted us relatively quickly THE FIRST TIME and asked for our drinks which went quickly. However, once we asked for an extra minute or two she would be gone for long periods. Once we finally got our food order in the food was out very quickly! This was a bonus; however, the quality did leave me and my girlfriend both feeling very very queasy afterwards. Our waitress didn’t interact much with us to at all really, she visited many other tables without an issue, but we felt very pushed aside in the corner. The atmosphere was very crowded and the lights were exceptionally dim. Now, about the food, my girlfriend and I both agree there wasn’t anything FANTASTIC about it. I had the country fried steak with gravy, it was a soggy coating and I ate more of the gravy than the actual steak because there was so much gravy. I also had over medium eggs and hash browns-both of which were exceptionally bland and I was unable to finish. I had an English muffin as well, which was the only part of my meal I actually enjoyed. My girlfriend had the Full Mama Breakfast which consisted of two oversized pancakes and 2 eggs with meat. The meat was her only good part. The eggs were bland and the pancakes, although strikingly LARGE which leave you feeling happy when you see it, but had absolutely no flavor. Once we finished our food it took roughly 20 minutes to even see our waitress again for the check and she was not very pleasant. When we went to the front to check out, the cashier was not pleasant at all and didn’t even speak to us, we were rushed and she did not make eye contact nor even care to ask about our service. Of course, we left a tip. No matter the service, these servers and diners do not deserve to be short changed. I just hope someone sees this review and takes into consideration how they treat their customers. We are unsure if it is because we are an obvious lesbian couple or something, but our service was not anything to be happy about. We went here for the 4.6 star rating, but we did not receive that kind of service. We will be trying other diners in the future. Maybe your experience will be different, so you can make the judgement call for yourself. However I would not recommend. It’s been almost an hour since we have eaten and we are both still...
Read moreI recently visited Recipe Box Brunch Hub, and I can confidently say it was a delightful experience! From the moment I walked in, the warm and inviting atmosphere set the stage for a perfect brunch.
I opted for the classic brunch spread, which included cheese eggs, sausage, bacon, and cheese grits. Each dish was cooked to perfection. The cheese eggs were creamy and flavorful, while the sausage and bacon had that perfect crispy texture that I love. The cheese grits were a comforting addition, rich and satisfying, making them a standout on the plate.
To complement the savory dishes, I enjoyed a refreshing bowl of fresh fruit, which was a great balance to the meal. The vibrant colors and variety of fruits added a lightness that I appreciated.
I also couldn’t resist ordering a cappuccino, which was expertly crafted. The coffee was rich and smooth, with just the right amount of foam on top—definitely a must-try for any coffee lover.
Lastly, the side of toast was the perfect finishing touch. It was warm and toasted just right, making it an excellent vehicle for the delicious breakfast spread.
Overall, my experience at Recipe Box Brunch Hub was fantastic. The food was delicious, the service was friendly, and the ambiance was cozy. I highly recommend this spot for anyone looking to enjoy a hearty and satisfying brunch! I can’t wait to return and explore more...
Read moreThe first time I came here everything went smooth. I eat a mostly plant based diet and ordered two wraps with potatoes, spinach, onions, and peppers. When I received the bill I thought it was a little high with the wraps being $9 each. Each vegetable was $.75 per wrap so that’s a total of $2.25 leaving $6.75 for the wrap and hash browns inside. On the menu the hash browns are $2.75. So you’re telling me the actually wrap charge was $4.00? I explained that I felt this was a pretty hefty charge for a wrap with just potatoes and broke down my reasoning as so to the why to the lady up front and she proceeds to tell me that’s what they charge. I ask her to show me on the menu where this is the charge. She said they just re-did their menus and don’t have it on there and charge for something else. I’m never one to complain about money or pricing normally but this seemed over the top for meatless wraps, $18.
The tall lady up front was rude, unknowledgeable about the menu, and not understanding at all. She said I’m not the owner and don’t make the prices and said it is what it is. That’s not what you tell a paying customer that comes here with his family and was there with friends for the first time.
