Just wanted to take a minute to let everyone know about the strange encounter I had here on June 19th. My food turned out great, and the store felt well maintained and clean. Its my first time eating here but my fiance orders catering for her company frequently from Moes, she also grabs lunch here about once a week. She suggested we eat lunch at Moe's.
Everything was great until we went to Check-out. The person who was ringing us up was probably a manager or a shift lead, we're not sure. We didnt catch his name, but the best way to describe him was he was tall with a cane.
Here's where things got weird. When checking out the man asked us of we were military. I said, "No, im a veteran." He then asked to see my ID, and I presented it. I carry a tan DD2765, which is for 100% disabled veterans ID card. Myself being a disabled combat veteran this is the appropriate card to carry. This gentlemen being the expert that he is decided to call me a dependant. Then proceeded to try to grill me about my service and duty locations thinking he is going to catch me for stolen valor or something. I dont know. He then decided to present his veteran ID in some attempt to have a gotcha moment and explain that he was some sort of a veteran in his own right. My words cannot articulate how belittling and embarassing the interaction felt to me and my fiance.
I found the entire interaction insulting and degrading. When my fiance and I sat down she mentioned how incredibly rude and tense the interaction was. I agreed, I thought it was probably the most disrespectful encounter ive ever had at a check-out. The two young men who helped prepare our food were excellent, friendly, and seemed to enjoy what they were doing and were clearly working well together as a team.
We're not even sure if we got a discount as after our card was rung he just abruptly walked away and then started belittling or talking to his employees in a condescending tone. We never got a receipt, or a thank you for coming. To be clear Im not even concerned about a discount, its great when a business will throw a bone for veterans but it wouldnt exclude me from visiting a restaurant. My issue was the incredibly rude service I received. For this reason I will not come back.
I would encourage the company to reach out to me if any...
Read moreI will never eat at this establishment ever again. I got the worst service. (7/15/2017 at 1:45) I walked in and got no "Welcome To Moe's" like I heard from outside the door. I stood in line and watched as the lady (Caucasian/ Red headed/Pink Breast Cancer Tattoo behind the Left Ear) treated the customers in front of me. She was polite and respectful to them. She rolled her eyes at me before she took my order, I should have known to walked out them. It was time for my order and she just looked at me. She did not ask me "how may I help you? What would you like?" Nothing at all. I walked through the line and got to the cashier Matthew. He was so polite. I asked how to make a complaint, he told me online or that he could get his manager. He went back to get his manager but was told he was busy. Nothing should be more important than customer service, it could have been urgent. I paid for my meal and called the number on the receipt. I talked to the manger. I told him I felt his employee was rude, disrespectful and racist. I am a black woman by the way. He seemed to brush me off and not care so I am going to talk to corporate. Not only was she rude to me but she was rude to a black male two customers behind me. She has a totally attitude change when blacks and Caucasians come through the line. I will never eat at this establishment again. I will not recommend this establishment to my military counterparts or my civilian friends. I have never complained about an employee or company but the treatment was...
Read moreSo I am about to leave after my first time at Moes in Fort Walton. I was greeted by the friendliest young lady. Dark hair, dark skin….i didn’t get her name, but she was super sweet and helpful. The next person was a younger black guy. He looked like he enjoyed his job and was also super friendly. Then…..a really skinny young white kid in an orange shirt….he was standing in front of a bunch of unmarked squeeze bottles and kinda looked at me like “well?….” I explained that I didn’t know what was in the bottles to know if I wanted it on my nachos. He offered no explanation….just looked at me like I was cutting into his cigarette break. I just passed it by. The last person was what I am assuming is the manager. Young white lady in a collared shirt with face paralysis . Her face never moved from the scowl she had it in. She stood by the register scowling. The only words she offered was my total and to ask if I wanted a receipt. After I sat down to eat my nachos, I realized I needed some sour cream and some more guacamole. My chip to sauce ratio was a little off. The young black man was super eager to help. He was excited to assist me before I even made it half way across the dining room. Meanwhile…scowler scowled. And the mute with sauces handed one of the unmarked bottles over. Now I know what’s in one of them!!! The portion was enormous. The food was descent….50% of the staff were superb….the other 50% should be retrained by the others. Especially...
