Gave this place a try on the recommendation of a friend. First off, picked up our $73+ order, got it home. Was missing 4 egg rolls. Called them, and she proceeded to argue with me that I didn’t order those she gave me 4 more spring rolls instead, and poor customer service skills arguing on the phone, despite me clarifying she had gotten our 4 ADDITIONAL egg rolls during ordering. I gave up while she was arguing, said whatever and hung up. But I give it one star for the food itself. $73 and the portions were pathetic for the price, and honestly the WORST CHINESE FOOD I’VE EVERRR eaten!! Bland and Tasteless!!!! Sweet and sour chicken: So greasy it left a puddle it the container, General Tso’s bland two people got bones in their chicken and breading was mushy. Crispy mushroom teriyaki Delight, definitely not crispy, definitely not teriyaki, tasted like the General tso and S&S sauce with mushy carrots and onions added to it in a container, spring rolls honestly gross with mush inside, but son liked them. Consensus: Kung Pao Chicken was ok, would NOT go there again because there’s many places in Bradenton better tasting, better portions, and better priced. Who own up if they’ve messed up an order and apologize and correct the problem. For $73 I’m spending on your food, I don’t think I’m trying to rip you off of four egg...
Read moreThe restaurant was okay until the host messed the order. A few weeks ago, I came to the restaurant and I order two crispy tofu and one chicken lo mein. I spend $24 for the meal. After I got the food, I find out the host gave me one tofu and one chicken lo mein. I went back at 8:30pm to get my second crispy tofu order. When I came in, the host tells me that the kitchen is closed and that the cook turn off the oven burner off so there isn't any more crispy tofu to served. After I walked away from the restaurant very disappointedly, I hear the restaurant being locked to make sure it is closed. I was a very upsetting moment. Although the host told me politely, that didn't make sense to me that it would closed 30 mins before it actually closed at 9pm. Even the menu says it. What is interested about the restaurant is that it is a take out ONLY not a dine in for there are certain hours to dine in. The host is the only person in the restaurant and the cook is way in the back. That's why it is an empty restaurant. I didn't know in the beginning why the restaurant is such a nice and quiet...
Read moreUnlike a lot of reviewers, I was not impressed with this restaurant. Upon entering, the staff was not very pleasant, almost bordering on indifference. The tables were all full and I noticed that the average age group of the customers was an older crowd; 75 to 80 years old. Now on to the food. We ordered the Nam Fong soup, Nam Fong Lo Mein and Sweet and Sour Pork. The food was presented well, the portions were generous and looked fairly appetizing. However I could tell immediately that it was to be your typical American concept of what Chinese food should taste like; bland and lacking any real subtlelty. I suppose my penchant for szechuan style Chinese cuisine influenced my judgement but it also made me realize once again that I don't particularly enjoy this type of Chinese-American fare. Obviously this is very popular for many people but it's just not for me. I went to Nam Fong looking for something different and special but had a disappointingly average experience instead and I will...
