There are 4 main things I usually rate stores and restaurant for: Price - 🌟 🌟 🌟🌟 Cleanliness 🌟 🌟 🌟🌟 Customer service 🌟 Product/food quality 🌟 🌟 🌟 = Overall score of 3
The food is good, especially for the price. There are many varieties to choose from as seen from my pictures. I did not give it a 4 star because the customer service is horrible. They are short staffed I guess because it's family business, I'm not sure. However, they need to hire more people. I would get a to-go-plate, go to the receptionist desk for check out, the cashier would go from behind the cash register as she is ringing me up, to go help out the other customers that just walked in. This often makes me late for work. Yesterday a customer saw me standing there and The cashier tried to take HER payment before mine and the customer said, "I'm sorry I think she was here first so you can take her." And the Cashier disregarded the customer's request and simply ignored her and continue to ask her for her credit card and took her payment before mine. Then she proceeded to take 3 other customers payments before mine until I said, "I'm sorry are you going to take my payment at some piont?" Then she reluctantly took my card. She has purposefully provided bad customer service to me repeatedly. And I've seen her do it to other people. Have some common courtesy. You help those who are first, not who you feel like helping. That's rude. Horrible service. I will NO LONGER be going to this restaurant and DO NOT recommend it. If the food wasn't cheap, I would definitely NOT recommend going there. It's up to you to decide what you Value more; quality customer service, or cheap food. Other than the bad service and unfriendly cashier, the food taste good. So I unwilling give this a 3 star...
Read moreI don't like giving bad reviews, but I felt this needed to be said. My husband and I have frequented Orange Buffet for many years. Sometimes the food is excellent--hot and fresh. Sometimes, not so much. We stopped in for lunch on April 7, 2023 about 11:30 for lunch. We will never go back. The food on the bar was not only left over from previous days, it was SO bad that it should not have been served. Everything was cold/room temperature. The corn on the cob was sitting in a milky white water with grease floating on top. Stuffed mushrooms were so old that some were stuck to the pan and shriveled up. Honey chicken was so old that it was crunchy. Chicken on a stick didn't even resemble chicken because it was so old and black. We opted for the hibachi instead. The dude cooking had an attitude and clearly did not want to be there. He never spoke to anyone and never made eye contact. I watched as he placed noodles on a patron's plate. The noodles were hanging off the plate and he used his bare hand to grab the noodles and put them back on the plate. He was also cross contaminating the food by using the same spatula for the meats, veggies and seafood. Our food was finished , but he never put any sauce or seasoning on any of it--much like everything else he made while we were there. Our server kept coming over to see if everything was good--and we clearly told her NO every time, but she just smiled, said okay and walked away. I understand in the food industry that sometimes things get past you and something might not be as fresh as it should be. But what we saw yesterday at Orange Buffet was shameful and disgusting. We will not...
Read moreLast night when I ate there, the lady that took my payment tried to pressure me to tip her 3 times. A) I am a broke college student so I don’t have the money to tip. B) If I have to get up to get my own food that the waitress doesn’t bring to me or have any part in making the meal then no I won’t tip. C) All the waitress did was get me a glass of water.
When my buddy paid, he had put a $5 bill in the tray with his card because his card didn’t have enough on it. When she came back, she told him that he didn’t have enough money for the meal and that he needed a different card. This is crazy because she had taken his $5 bill and put it in her pocket and when he had brought it up that it was there she denied it and then pulled it out of her pocket and said “tip for me” he said “no that’s my money for food” and then she said “okay I take rest” and walked away with it. - A) she forced him to tip her, never asked. B) She was trying to take his money for a tip before paying for his meal.
This customer service is absurd, you should never feel pressured by an employee to give them a tip. I will not be going back here ever again and I hope this review stops others...
