Panera Bread — Restaurant in Florida

This chain is anything but relaxing. When you go in, there's an incredible array of baked goods and 2 cash registers. Where to stand? Good question. I asked a patron whom I nearly ditched in front of thinking that she and another had already ordered and were just waiting for their orders. The menu should be simple to read and I had to search and pass up my turn as the woman had passed hers to me. I guess we were both a bit overwhelmed. I don't know if the menu was too spread out or too packed with info to be clearly understood or what. The cashier waved me to her and I felt pressured to respond. I saw chili, looked at the 300 calories (I hoped that was calories) and was asked cup or bowl so another decision to make. Uh-oh. More confusion. I didn't get the price from the listing but my sales slip said 8.89. Really? For chili? Did I want a piece of bread? No, I shouldn't. I asked if it came with it. Yes. Ok, then yes. After I gave my credit card and saw a place for tip - what for? No tip jar either - maybe they aren't intested in my quarters. Then, I didn't know where to wait. No signs either. I stood aside awhile to wait then finally I asked a different person behind this very long counter leading to the back area and she pointed me to the far (back) end. My order was there and had been waiting for me as I had waited for it. I took a seat but went to look for a 2nd napkin - none by the coffee up front nor anywhere I could see. I wondered about getting water but did without. Did I mention this is a confusing place? I ate. The chili was good but I never did relax. One worker kept the tables clean with no bleach smell which I appreciated. I'm going to find the water now. I suggest you scope out this place and the prices...

First time at Panera 10801 Starkey Road, at the Bardmoor Shopping Center for breakfast this Sunday morning. The quality of the food was good. Good dollar value. Very good front line service. However, not expected from a chain, the place had a very family-like feel to it. Reminded me of stopping by my aunt's house on Sunday after church for a coffee and catch-up visit. FOOD - Avocado Egg white breakfast sandwich on the flat bagel - very good. Overall, the Everything bagel with egg and bacon sandwich was good. But if we're really in the mood for a bagel, we'll go to our favorite local bagel place. Hazelnut coffee was very good. Breakfast dessert; Oatmeal Raisin cookie, chocolate chip cookie and Almond pastry were all excellent. SERVICE - The front line was Abby and Cheryl. Both very friendly. Cheryl kept telling everyone as they entered "Welcome in!". Very nice. Cheryl, when there was a lull in customers, checked all the coffee pots and milk/creamers and refilled as needed. ATMOSPHERE - Great atmosphere. It really adds alot to the dining experience when it's so evident that so many of the other customers seem to really be enjoying being there. It's says alot about a place who can't follow there own meal ingredients,and charge too much for low quality food. I spent $24 on 2 lunches both were not made right. Both sandwiches were straightforward orders nothing special or fancy, yet there is only a sliver of spinach and I mean a tiny itty bitty wilted piece of spinach, no grilled onions just raw ones plopped on top, tomatoes so thin that when I went to reorganize my sandwich they disintegrated, the chicken was dry and didn't even cover the giant piece of bread. I wanted meat with all these carbs. Its very unprofessional and unpleasant to pay almost $30 for meals and were just gonna throw it away. If these employees had to pay for there mess ups, how big would there paychecks be? I work hard for every penny I have and I feel like you're stealing my money for a subpar product. If I gave subpar service and goods at my business, I'd get sued. Please train and retrain because when your store is empty and I ordered ahead and I still have to wait an extra 10 mins and my food is still incorrect it seems like you're just trying to steal people's money.
