I had the mushroom truffle burger, my mother had the bacon cheeseburger. We used to eat at Smashburger on East Bay & US19 same burgers each time, this was not the cleanliness, not the quality staff, but worst was the mushroom truffle burger was NOT similar to the one I used to have on East Bay. I thought I was going to be okay, girl didn't seem thrilled to work there, was empty but was somewhat early, made one stop after but this pain hit my stomach like a lot of pain. My mother & I flew home, I vomited & vomited & vomited & vomited, my face was purple, swollen, still is, no strength terribly weak my mother says she can see how poor I'm feeling & this is the 3rd day as we went Friday night. This has ruined my holiday, as I can't move, can't get out of bed, no final shopping & being a 53 yr old that remembers seafood food poisoning was nothing near as bad as this as my stomach is so painful, bubbles, acid indigestion, stomach feels raw, have to watch liquids as I'm so raw inside from throat to stomach - this has scared me more than any poor experience with food in my life, only Tyrone Taco Bell was as bad, that was chemicals an employee put in nacho cheese that burned my throat literally causing fever, this is creating some fever it's also affected a larger area & lasted 3 days so far. I'm very concerned about this particular location, I personally feel I will not return, I'm still questioning a dr or even hospital as I can't move. It was bad, it's been bad - lost 4 dogs this year, two a week ago 5 days apart one completely unexpected & why we were trying to get out try to keep our minds a bit busy, my cat, my rabbit also all deaths this year, worst I found my younger brother right where I kissed his bald head goodnight in our home in July dissecting aneurism of his heart. We were both concerned about our emotions, not decorating doesn't feel right, but the "keeping our minds busy" part hasn't been something I can do anything about, absolutely the last & most seriously impactful meal out ever, and just took me the rest of the way down. Please look into this Smashburger franchise owner on Bryan Dairy as I've never felt this bad & I have rare full body Crps since 2012, also called the "suicide disease" I'm strong, I'm blessed to still be upright but this took me to such awful pain & vomiting far worse having such a reaction as if it wasn't...
Read moreAITA for having dietary restrictions? Not here.
I loathe having to be that guy, but, since turning ::muffled_sounds:: years old, I apparently have dietary allergies, one of them being wheat.
This location has ALWAYS gone above and beyond in considering dietary restrictions, even going so far as to scrape the grill clean to avoid butter residue before toasting the GF bun. And they NEVER make those restrictions out to be an inconvenience or make me feel like it's my fault (hint: b/c it's not...). There was a mention that another regular customer has celiac and that they have a dedicated frier to address the needs of those with severe enough allergies; unsure how legit that is and I'm not that severely allergic (afaik).
Our first experience here was an under-staffed Covid-rattled store with a rush-beaten manager who took every second with more patience than the Dalai Lama does in a lifetime. Seriously. We were amazed at the woman's composure and demeanor under so much pressure; a true mark of quality leadership. The store has since been staffed accordingly and I was not only STILL catered-to, but was in and out in under 5 minutes, with a diet-safe lunch my tummy and soul sorely needed.
Is it the healthiest option? No, it's burgers and fries comfort food (you know what you're getting) with quality a step above fast food. Their burgers are fresh and delicious, the fries are AMAZINGLY hot and fresh, and the atmosphere is open and welcoming. I will keep...
Read moreNot really sure what happened to this place..but wow! My husband and I used to love going to the one in largo, but sadly it closed. We've been to this location a few times and it was really good but this last time I went was ridiculous! The dining room was full of customers waiting on orders both for dine in and Uber pick ups. My friends and I waited in line behind another guy for around 15 minutes and no one acknowledged us at all..not that there were many workers there to being with just one guy and 2 cooks. The guy was at the order window the whole time completely lost and confused just scrambling to get orders and the cooks were literally tossing stuff around and orders on the counter. When one guy came in to pick up an order he put in over an hour and a half before and found out it wasn't there that's when we knew we knew it was obvious we needed to go elsewhere. Honestly even if I had ordered my food and was made to wait around that long like everyone else in the lobby I would have gotten my money back. Not sure if it's a training issue or a staffing issue but management needs to step in when it goes down like that. Step up your game smash burger your food is to good to have this issue...
