Pollo Tropical — Restaurant in Florida

Although Pollo Tropical is probably considered a fast food restaurant it is a far better choice than a fast hamburger joint! My boyfriend and I enjoy their grilled chicken! We often order a half a chicken meal and for an extra fifty cents we ask for all white meat which gives us two breasts and two wings along with black beans and yellow rice with some small pieces of vegetables in it and it also comes with a roll. We also order a bowl of their soup which I cannot remember the name of ( maybe Caribbean something) well it doesn't really matter since it is the only soup they sell. It has chicken in it as well as small pieces of corn which are still on the cob. There is also plantains and yucca among other vegetables. We both really enjoy it. We then ask for an extra plate and spoon and share the meal. We always leave satisfied. That meal is about $12; about the same price that we would have spent at a cheap hamburger place! You know the kind of place I'm talking about. I feel Pollo Tropical provides food that is far healthier for us without breaking the bank!

Another of of our favorites is their Tropachop. (spelling) it come in a small or a large portion. It is a bowl that starts out with either brown or white rice and then they add your choice of beans, tomatoes, corn and lettuce among other things! They then top it off with meat of your choice. These are made right in front of you so you can tell them that you do not want certain things on it if you don't like certain things. When we order a large ball like this as well as a bowl of soup we can't even eat it all and the price is still about $12.

They also have this awesome condiment bar which has different types of BBQ sauces and all kinds of other tasty sauces that will make your chicken or whatever else it is you order taste even better!

One last thing when 9:30 or so rolls around and you realize you have not eaten dinner they are open inside until 10:00 and I believe their drive-thru is open even later!

I feel extremely sorry for you if you do not have a Pollo...

This pollo tropical is literally in the corner of my home which is why I’ve always gone to this location. Unfortunately, I’m not sure what is going on with their management and employees but it definitely has never been this bad. For the last year the quality of the food has been terrible but this week has topped it for my family and I. We ordered a tropi chop and received rotten chicken, the smell was terrible it turned my stomach and made me vomit. Obviously making me lose my appetite. This is unacceptable I feed my son from this company and they’re lucky it was for me and not my son at that moment. This location really needs to be checked on by the food inspection of Florida and the way they handle their business and customers. I will never be returning to this low quality, rotten food location ever again. I’d rather drive than get some nasty old rotten food especially after paying for it.

ALSO, they make you go through drive thru only if you get off and attempt to order they tell you “drive thru only” which is not acceptable because it’s the only pollo tropical doing this at the moment. The employees and management are rude and nasty. They don’t care about you or your food or their JOB! Not sure why people be applying for jobs they don’t want to work at and treat others nasty. But it’s this ugly world we live in now. Anyways, don’t waste your time or money at...

I ordered a whole chicken and a half Chicken. When I arrive I notice the bog is light so I check it on the spot. I open the box and there are 4 chicken legs. I tell the Cashier My order is wrong I tell him I order 1 and 1/2 chicken however I received 4 chicken legs.

He tells me with a really bad attitude what do you want me to do about it? I explain I want my order correct. He tells me that they only have chicken legs because Corporate is only sending them legs. However, I can see the whole chicken after the whole chicken is cooked on the grill. I ask for the manager who has been standing behind the line. she ignores me I call again she ignores me. So I pull out my phone and start recording she then quickly springs to action I tell him what happened she tells me the same thing that corporate has been sending them a lot of chicken legs. I tell him that regardless they only had legs the order was wrong because I received only pieces. She refused to give me a whole chicken or any breast even though I can see the grill from far and she had whole chicken cooked and cut up.

I don't think it's right that if I order 1-1/2 whole chicken I be given 6 chicken legs and be told that somehow the reason for this is due to corporate shipping too many chicken legs.

I work hard to earn a living and food for my family to be shorted and not given...
