Royal Scoop Homemade Ice Cream — Restaurant in Florida

Simply the best ice cream I've ever eaten. They have so many flavors it's very hard to choose, but the good news is, no matter what you choose it's amazing ice cream. There one drawback is that they are consistently crowded no matter what time of year. That's a good thing for them, and it does show what great ice cream they have, but there have been a number of times that I drove away because the wait was just too long. I know there's nothing they could do about that, so I just come back another time! The last time I was there I enjoyed a scoop of their black cherry and it did not disappoint. Smooth and creamy with big chunks of black cherry inside of it. I also bought a hand packed vanilla for my dad who was at home. It is one of the most pure vanilla ice creams I have ever had the pleasure of tasting. A real Old Fashioned Ice Cream Parlor. I highly suggest trying it when in the Naples area. This place should close their doors until this a scamdemic is over, it’s kind of funny how this happened on an election year. They want you to wear masks they say are mandatory. Me and my family walk in the place to order and employee says you need a mask to be in here. And I say I need a mask to order but 15 steps away there’s a whole room full of people eating ice cream without masks on. You order and take ten steps and grab your ice cream when it’s ready. Then the mask comes off. Take five more steps and no one has mask on!!!! Things that make you go hmmm!!! The government tells you to wear a mask and the government tells you to stand 6 feet apart. If the government told you to run out on interstate 75 blindfolded at 5 PM in rush-hour traffic would you also do that? Stop drinking the Kool-Aid and remember this is America. Yes the coronavirus is real but so is in the influenza and we never shut the country down for that. Thanks for ruining my daughters...

I have thought for years this was the best ice cream I have ever had and am certain I wore a 5 star review years ago. I must say it does not seem to be of the quality now of what it was in 1999 when I moved to the area. It seems with expansion the quality has gone down, and the value is also not where it was. I factored in inflation and still concluded, the same. I stopped by today and had a two scoop dish of coffee Ice cream which was decent, but had some temp issues that made it not smooth. After this dish I drove to nearby Melissa's on Bonita Beach Road and ordered the same. The Melissa's had much more flavor, and creaminess and for about the same price my two scoops was at least 30-40% larger. This confirms at least to me Royal Scoop is only a better than average shop today....
