Firstly, Thank you to our wonderful server Azalia and the manager Edward for ensuring our experience was wonderful! Azalia made sure that we had a table inside promptly upon our arrival. On the morning of Sunday, May 7th, my wife and I had the honor of experiencing one of the best breakfasts we have had while staying in Florida. She chose the Gulf Shrimp Omelet which did not disappoint. The combination of Smoked Gouda Grits with the eggs and the shrimp hit a satisfactory note that is just what she needed for the long journey to a place we call home. I happened to choose the 3 stack of White Chocolate Bread Pudding Pancakes with a double side of bacon. Yes. Double. Bacon. Please don't judge me lol Thank you. The saltiness from that delicious and crispy bacon cut the sweetness from the pancakes while creating this marriage of salty and sweet. While those delicious pancakes were the star of the show, the supporting cast was the whiskey butter given to me by Edward. That one buttery addition after a nice drizzle of syrup transcended those cakes to near heavenly level! They were melt in your mouth with the whiskey butter leaving a silky smooth finish while the salty sweet fades. Their coffee is also really nice. The bitterness from the coffee went well with the caramelized bread pudding which was also very pleasant. Overall, the service was great, the food was excellent, and the wait time for a...
Read moreThe wait staff at this establishment was condescending and rude in a way I did not know was possible in the service industry. After waiting for service for 20 minutes outside in 90 degree heat without water on a slow morning, we were told by our waitress who did not introduce herself that we were low priority. Knowing we would have to leave a 20% tip as a party of six and also being told plainly that we were not important, we felt snubbed and shocked by her brisk attitude and lack of curtsy. It is worth mentioning also that we only received service because we went back to the hostess stand to ask if we did in fact have a waiter assigned to us. To attempt to make the most of what was shaping up to be a poor experience, we asked to be moved inside. At this point the waitress told her fellow staff she would not serve us and we were reassigned to a possibly worse staff member who gave us water to “cool us down” and told me it was best I was sitting in the corner because of my attitude. At this point we decided to leave, not wanting to spend our money at a place with such rude staff. On our way out the staff became confrontational and did not let us explain our dislike of their service. I am shocked to have been treated like this by people who will likely remain employed. Being belittled is not apart of a...
Read moreFirst time trying this unique brunch spot. They have great menu options, and the flavors were great. Tried the Chicken St Charles and the Eggs Cochon "Bennies". The tasso cream sauce and the hollandaise sauce were delicious! The fried chicken breast was cooked perfectly (but not hot), and the apple-braised pork had a distinctive, sweet and savory flavor like no other. I know there's great potential here if they can dial in the quality of the food temperature and the consistency of the poached eggs. The food would have probably been amazing and 5 stars if it was hot, and if the poached egg was actually runny and not overcooked. The beignets were undercooked twice. I'm attributing this to the fact that they were very busy, and it's the middle of tourist season. I'm assuming our food sat in the window a while before it was brought to the table because it was room temperature at best. The staff was friendly enough, most were working hard, and overall it was a pretty good experience. I'll chalk it up to an anomaly, but in reality, a great restaurant should be able to handle the pressure and deliver excellent quality for the area and the...
