La cremeria - Gelato/ Ice Cream & coffee shop in Baytown wharf Destin — Restaurant in Miramar Beach

Before you scroll by my review just know I am not an internet troll, I leave honest unbiased reviews only. Don’t be deceived by the cool vibes of Baytown and good reviews on this place. My husband and I went in and tried a few flavors and they were all pretty unappealing. I finally settled on cold brew and had decided to try the caramel cookie crunch gelato on top. I had asked the man at the counter to put some heath bar on the side so I can add it to my cold brew flavor as there was no room to add a topping. He said he doesn’t do that and then proceeded to put the smallest about of heath bar crumble on top of the caramel crunch. I took one spoonful and all the crumble fell off the top. I tried the caramel crunch and it was horrendous. I knocked off the scoop of caramel crunch into the trash can along with my 3 crumbles of heath bar. I said nothing and my husband paid for what I ordered without a single complaint. I sat outside and proceeded to eat the cold brew gelato and practically broke my tooth on a mouthful of whole bitter coffee beans that were mixed into the gelato. I just truly don’t understand how this place has good reviews aside from people reviewing on the fun vibes of Baytown Warf. My husband got the strawberry gelato and did not enjoy it at all. If you are going for ice cream don’t risk it and go here cause it’s not worth it to see a rude and hateful staff. Today, August 30, the female staff clearly projects that she needs to be somewhere but not an ice cream shop in a tourist spot. We were there this afternoon and happily entered, no greetings from the staff, she looks and projects dismayed.. fine, we asked about the Dubai chocolate ice cream and she is very unwilling to describe it, I feel bad for the owner for this must be a promotional item as it is even posted outside the store the very reason we went in.. but the staff has zero enthusiasm, so we asked if we could try some flavor, tried 1 flavor and she smirked and side eyeing us, asked to try for a second flavor and she said “ you wanna try?” in a rude way and gave a not kidding you literally a quarter of a green pea almost a drop on the sample spoon. Is this how an ice cream attendant should be? There must be a mistake in this person to be on a shop like this in a tourist spot, a very salty and negative vibe person.. we just decided to just buy a basic scoop of ice cream and leave at once. The gelato was great but the attendant is WORST. We moved to Moolala which is another ice cream shop there and the staffs were terrific, we ended up buying the Dubai sundae there and it was...

In the land of mediocrity that is the Florida pan handle, this may be the most mediocre of all cream (I cannot fathom how it could ever be classified as “gelato”). I usually don’t take the time to write reviews, but I felt compelled to write this after I literally chose to throw away my ice cream rather than eat it (and as a true fat kid at heart I absolutely never do this). I don’t know if the ice cream was expired or if it really is just that bad. The texture was wrong (kind of chewy), the flavor had a slight hint of cleaning chemicals. and the only thing I can compare it to would be to eating diet ice cream: it’s not completely inedible but at least it’s good for you. But wait—this is not diet ice cream! This is the lacroix of ice cream. Please save your $7 and get 2 pints of Edy’s from the grocery store.
