My wife and I have lived in the area for over 2 years and we drive on Cortez probably 4 out of 7 days a week. Not sure why, but we never noticed RT's. One night my wife was driving and she pulled a u turn and pulled into RT's. I am so glad she did. Let's get thing out of the way you probably care the most about. The food. That night and each night we have been back the food has been good. It arrived hot. The broccoli salad could have been a touch wetter in my mind. Everything else we have had in the four visit's we have now done has been fantastic. food portions are not huge, but, not small either. The shrimp and Toters tots rocked it. well cooked, in clean oils with no funny after tastes from other foods cooked in the oil prior. Warning: Long on details for this point on:
Now, on to more things: Floor's - spotless, even under tables, chairs and booths. Table's - spotless each night except our last visit. (There was one table dirty for about 6-7 minutes.) Men's bathroom - Clean, well stocked with Tp, hand soap and paper towels, smell nice. (Each time we went.) They can't know I am coming and clean them before I get there. So, I believe they are clean all the time. Even the kicks boards are clean. the corners have a little gunk in them, but all in all, Awesome. Wife has not reported on women's restrooms. Tables, chairs and booths- clean and cutlery out. Half walls separating sections of the dining room - tops are clean, fixtures on those walls are clean and shades are clean. Salad bar - Very nice. very little if any junk from spillage around the bowls and bowls are if not full have a lot in them. I believe someone stirs them to make certain nothing dries out. Peeked in Kitchen - from what I could see, clean very little mess on floors. If you have worked on the back part of a restaurant you know how cool this is. And how gross it can get. Doors to kitchen in dining room clean and glass clear. (Safety issues.) Ceiling tiles - a couple could be replaced. Dining room - Very VERY nice. Yes, it could use a refresh. But, still not a horrible experience to walk in. Music playing - seems to be soft 80-90 soft rock and played at a volume that does not require you to speak louder to talk to your date. Wait staff - OMG. One of my favorite parts on my visit. Liz, (not Liv) was awesome, and told us about the salad bar deals. Older woman, with dark hair, who looks like she is 19. had excellent service also. Black haired Hostess - Nice, polite and has nicest blackest hair I have ever seen. I so wanted to ask if it was her natural color. Manager(s) Mark (not Jerry), is a Cowboys fan. And my wife and I teased him about the Jan 5th game. and the cheerleader who took a football to the head. He was awesome about the loss and our feedback about the restaurant. I still think his name should be Jerry though. Met 2nd manager and she was polite and both managers talked with us at length. Parking lot - as you face the restaurant with your back to Cortez the front door is to the right of the building. (weird) All in all, I look forward to each and every visit.
(Note: My wife and I have been back at least a dozen times now. And I can say, nothing has changed. It is just as nice as the...
Read moreThis was my first time eating at a Ruby Tuesday. My husband and I both ordered beers and our food at the same time. It took longer than usual to get our beer. Mine was Blue Moon and did not come with an orange, so I asked for one. The waitress came back and said they were out of oranges and that is why I didn't get one. Our food came out rather quickly, especially since it took so long to get our drinks. I ordered the jalapeno queso burger with a gluten free bun and my husband got the Philly cheesesteak with a gluten free bun. The servings were a lot smaller than I expected. I got fries on the side and there were barely enough to even consider it a side. My husband got broccoli and I believe he only got 3 pieces. He said they tasted good though. My burger was pink when I started started eating it. I had asked for it to be cooked to medium. I was very hungry so I kept eating and I thought it would get better. It did not, it was very pink in the middle. Very rare. I also could not taste any jalapeno. So I took the burger apart and found that there was a pickled jalapeno on it, but it was not spicy at all. I stopped eating and said something to the waitress and she offered to make something else. I told her I had lost my appetite. When she brought the bill they had not taken anything off for the issue. I saw a man walk by that looked like a manger so I asked him. He said yes and I told him the issue and she went to check with the waitress. When he came back he told me that he took the burger off my ticket and that next time I need to complain before I eat that much of my food. His motto is you need to eat what you order not what you are brought. This strikes me odd, shouldn't what I order be the same as what I am brought. We ended up ordering another beer and they had to change out ticket again. I have never been to a restaurant where they don't ask you if you want another drink before bringing you the tab. We travel a lot and eat out often. We take pictures of our food and post them. The food is just as important as the beach. We did not have any desire to take picture of this food. We will not be eating at another...
Read moreSadly, I nor the 2 couples on my side got to have that great experience. Not going to mention the waitress's name but if Houdini had any granddaughter's I think I found one of them. Sat for nearly 15 min and not a sign of my server. Not even a glass of water. Finally she appears. Ordered a Cherry Coke which had no fizz and from waiting so long I already knew what I wanted to order, the Triple ribs, chicken tenders and shrimp. Again there I sat with nothing to drink as she disappeared to the back/kitchen. A couple was seated in front of me. We wait, 5 min, 10 min and no sight again of the waitress. About 12 min in the couple gets up and leaves and I'm still sitting with the flat drink. Finally she appears and I waved her down and asked for water; advised drink flat. Manager notices the customers leave without ordering and asked the greeter "What happen, why did they leave?" Guess she didn't want to get involved and told him "I'm not sure". I signal her and tell her to ask the manager to come. He comes to the table and I asked him to sit down a moment and told him I can answer your question of why that couple left if you like which he asked "why they leave?"
I explained, for the same reason I was about to walk out as well.... no service! "Your waitress who seems to be related to Houdini provides the worst service I've had in a long time. And if you don't believe me all the other couple how they felt about their service (as I overheard them not happy with the server)". Total of 6 tables in the entire restaurant and all other servers were visible for the exception of ours. Told manager I'm not looking for a free meal, just wanted to share with your the experience. Texas Steakhouse, line goes all the way to the back, Italian Restaurant, parking lot is full, Ruby Tuesday on the other hand about 7 cars total including I gather the staff's vehicles. Inside completely dead!
The food was overcooked. But sure what they added to the mash potatoes, not good and cold.
Still paid the $35 tab with tip.
Never again...
