We rate Mexican restaurants on three basics. The Margaritas, the salsa and their Nachos. Many Mexican restaurants fake their margaritas with white wine so we always check the bar to see if the have liquor which means they have tequila. Their salsa was top notch with cilantro garlic tomatoes and onions. Their natchos were huge. We split one for our dinner and it was loaded. Monday through Thursday they have a Margarita special with 2for1 deal for $5.50 and you can taste the tequila. Don’t miss it. The service was fast and pleasant. As a previous rater stated it’s hard to find a good Mexican restaurant in Florida but this is it. We are here twice a month at least and still a great Mexican restaurant. Their natcho plate is the largest we have ever seen and loaded with all the goodies. The owner is almost always there and he does everything including buss tables deliver plates of food take care of carry out etc. Margaritas are be up a bit but well worth it. Their nacho plate is even better. Two people can not eat it all. The Mariachi band starts at 6:00 on Saturday nights. They are excellent! Don’t miss them. See my videos on them. Check out my last photo of the hand done Xmas decoration in the window. Some slight misspellings but just proves it is a genuine Mexican restaurant

If I could add zero stars I would because this is the worst restaurant, not just Mexican restaurant but restaurant period in the area! Every time we get food from here we are either completely missing half our order or they cheat us on the order. We ordered 8 chicken enchiladas and got two with chicken and the others were just tortillas rolled up with sauce on them, see pic! It doesn’t matter if you’re food is decent if you try to cheat someone out of their food! The margaritas are another joke. Majorly overpriced and taste like they use wine instead of tequila. Charging someone $15-$20 for a Margarita is absolutely ridiculous! Garbage Margaritas! Now for the service, it’s nonexistent! You are lucky to be able to order anything to drink. It sometimes has taken 15-20 mins for someone to come over and take our drink orders then they run off not giving you a chance to order food. When they bring the drinks back they say we will be back to take your order and yet another 15 mins goes by. Then you wait 30-40mins on the food. This place should just shut its doors! We are done giving this place a chance!

We were excited to try this place. We heard good things but unfortunately we were super dissapointed. We were seated fairly quickly but it took along time for us to order food. They didn't check on us at all. We never got our drinks refilled. The food was bland. The chimmy was filled with pork instead of chicken which I thought was odd. It felt slimy and gummy. Pork is not even an option. It's chicken or beef. The Horchata was watery and didn't even taste like horchata. We asked for the check and a drink to go but she just kept skipping right over us and over 3 other tables but kept tending to the same tables over and over. It was super rude. We decided just to go up front and pay so we could leave. On a good note, their salsa was really good and the empanada was good however It wasnt cooked all the way.. I was really dissapointed and will not be going back. Customer Service is absolutely horrible. 2 thumbs down. So far El Ranchito is the best Mexican Restaurant in Spring Hill/Brooksville

This was ridiculous. I went in at 8:35, saw about 2 tables of people and was greeted a minute or so after I came in. The young girl who greeted me said she couldn't take my order and had to wait for one of the other staff all of whom were watching dragon ball z on the bar tv I said ok and waited 10 minutes for anouther staff member to come talk to me. When anouther woman came up and I asked for a menu because I didnt know what I wanted she rolled her eyes and put the menu on the counter and I ask her a question about the birria tacos and she tells me the options and I send a message to my husband to ask which he wants while I order my food. The whole time im talking to her she's sighing tapping her nails impatiently and just has a general attitude. I tell her my order and and for 3 items it was 60 dollars!!!! I've been here many times and orders the same thing and with the taco being something else and it was never close to 60! I just make a note in my head and gave her my card to scan shesnd it back and says it will be 10-15 minutes. So I leave a 5 dollar tip which I thought was a bit rude of me considering i usually tip well but simply couldnt because i wasnt expecting such a heavy bill. So I sit to wait for my food and 25 mins go by and I see food sitting on the back counter in bags so I thought ok anouther pick up order cool anouther 20 mins go by and I look up to see the same rude lady grab the 3 bags that have been sitting next to her for the FULL 20 mins at least literally drop them on the table and say here you go before walking off like I had covid. I work in food service so I understand having a bad day or just being done with your shift but she took it way too far. It was disrespectful and disappointing behavior from a place I used to be a regular at. Then when I get home I got beef instead of chicken half the food was cold and the birria tacos that were the whole reason I went there were flavorless and very very small. This experience was overall horrible and I truly wish I had left no tip. I will not be returning based on the absolut disrespectful and inappropriate behavior...

Came in for an early dinner at around 4:30pm, 2/10. Seated promptly, place was rather empty sans a few booths here and there. Having eaten here many times before we're well aware of its pros and cons and find it overall tolerable. This time, not so much.

The first issue was the wobbly table and near snapping in half of the chairs we were seated at. Someone needs to secure/tighten them before someone crashes to the floor. Having said that, knowing how the place operates, it will probably never happen until someone bounces off the floor cracking a hip.

The salsa was runny and taste more akin to pizza sauce than salsa. Not sure if someone made a bad batch or someone is cutting corners, but it literally taste as if someone ran a cup of water of the last teaspoon of salsa in the jar and serviced it up. Not good, tasteless.

Got drinks, ordered food and watched as one, yes only one waitress tended to the entire establishment. Overstaffed, and non interested, at least 5 other ladies stood around playing on phones and chatting in the corner of the bar. No one except the young lady who apparently cares bothered to assist.

Food came out, meh. Not once during our meal were we asked if we needed anything, no napkins, no refills, not even a parting question about the food quality. Nothing except, here's your check 15mins later. 2 stars on food/overall because at least the chips and sweet tea were ok.

Do better. If you don't care about your food, customers, establishment, or the apparent need to direct your staff to do something other than play on their phones, then why should we? We can eat just as good someplace else but choose to come in and we can choose not do which we are doing from now on. I can not recommend this place because you may get a halfway decent experience once but I can almost guarantee that is not the norm for this sleepy uninviting lackluster bland...

We had been here before and service was so so but not bad. Our usual place Plaza Mexico has went downhill with quality, this place is closer so we decided to give this one a try. HORRIBLE MISTAKE. We arrived and were seated about 10 minutes later. It wasnt that the dining was full, it was just nobody really cared. Finally seated. Ordered our drinks. The chips and drinks were pretty fast but that was the high water mark of this place. We ordered our food. The place did pick up while we were there a tad but not at the levels of some places locally. I drank my drink and literally satvthere for 20 mintues for a refill. The waitress, which we rarely saw, when she would come anywhere near us NEVER brought a drink. The host eventually gave us a refill. The food came and was on the verge of inedible. The beef tasted like roadkill. The sauce tasted like it was from the neighbor Save a Lot on sale. The rice had a tinge and the beans tasted like dog food. HORRIBLE. My wife asked for a to go drink and we never got a bill. We stood up to walk to the counter to pay and ask for our bill there. On our way there we asked one of the servers if she could get our bill for us. The look we got from her was like we were asking for her last kidney. Even after that we got no bill. So we preceeded to the counter where we asked for the bill there. The lady at the counter had to track down our waitress, she literally talked to 4 people who didnt know where our bill was. I am not one to walk out on a bill but this was about as close as I had ever got. She finally tracked down our waitress who glared at us shrugged her shoulders and finally our bill arrived. Needless to say this is a place we will never try again. Which is sad because we really wanted to give this place a chance to earn our patronage. If they keep this up long people...
