A friend wanted to try Sabor Venezolano restaurant. I checked the website. My ability to read Spanish is limited but, from what I gathered, it sounded like it would be an interesting restaurant.
We went to the restaurant at about 10 in the morning. It was a good time to go and was not very crowded.
The menu was challenging due to my lack of Spanish but I selected a coffee with milk and a pudding. The waiter was very helpful, making a couple of suggestions to ensure all of us were ordering what we wanted. My son is not fluent but speaks Spanish and was getting better as he gained confidence. He worked with the waiter as a translator.
The food was excellent. I had a small coffee with milk and flan. The coffee was an espresso with foam and had an excellent taste. The flan was very creamy and excellent flavor.
One of my dining companions had a beef empanada. I had never had one but did get to taste it and it was very good.
The restaurant was very neat and clean. Many of the food options were displayed on a table or in a display case.
The server was very patient and went through some trouble to make sure we were getting the food we expected. We appreciated his efforts and it made the visit more pleasant and educational as well. We got to try some small dishes that were unfamiliar to us and the experience made our visit to the area...
Read moreFour stars and I will go back!!...which means two things: They might get a five stars update review and I liked it a lot to return to the same place.
We went for the third time and they finally opened their doors to the customer. This small, cute and yet very proactively Venezuelan restaurants has so much to offer. From tequeños, arepas, cachapas, cachitos ( all Venezuelan food) to gelatos, natural juices and also Venezuelan deserts.
We want to go as many times needed to try everything on their menu but yesterday we had tequeños ( one portion with 5 freshly fried cheese tequeños ) and a cheese empanada. The empanada was delicious and the most juicy empanada we have tried; my daughter even said :" Mama for the first time I feel that I drank cheese " jejejej and the tequeños were scrumptious, so crunchy on the outside and yummy melted white cheese in the inside. This came with a cilantro and garlic cream which we loved.
The tables had the different names of the Venezuela's states written on them and the mural was beautiful with a summary of the most gorgeous places of Venezuela.
The service was the best and I felt so good that I can't wait to go...
Read moreI would like to begin by noting that I placed an order through a food delivery app consisting of a cachapa, a hot dog, and a kid-sized pizza. Unfortunately, the delivery driver had to wait nearly 30 minutes for the order to be prepared, which resulted in the food arriving cold and requiring reheating. The kid’s pizza was disappointing—it was very small, lacked sufficient cheese, and was served extremely cold. The hot dog was also unsatisfactory; the bun was significantly larger than the sausage itself, and the sausage appeared to have been placed directly from the package onto the bun without being boiled or grilled, and it too was cold. On a more positive note, the cachapa had very good flavor, although I still needed to reheat it before eating. Given this experience, I am uncertain whether I will order from this establishment again, at least not for a long while. That said, I encourage others to visit in person and form their own opinion. My intention is not to discredit the business but simply to share an honest account of my...
