When I entered the restaurant at 6:05pm I was the one and only patron, but not unsurprisingly, as it was an early hour. I ordered the pila salad which I must admit was quite good, but beyond that the food and service were quite poor. I had the Fettuccini seafood pasta (shrimp and scallops) based on my waiter’s recommendations. The pasta was over cooked, the scallops were fake, and the shrimp were previously frozen and extremely dry. There was no sauce of any kind.... butter, olive or anything so the pasta became very sticky and tough, and quite honestly, inedible. As a frequent business traveler, I am accustomed to dining alone, but I’m not accustomed to being ignored by my waiter. After some time, when my waiter finally asked me how my food was- and I told him- he said "you should have told me earlier and I would have taken care of it". He never checked on me earlier, or I would have!!!! I reluctantly give them two stars based on my salad and the fact that they redacted my entree cost after my waiter talked with the manager. (PS: I did NOT eat my entree at all. I asked for a to-go box for the shrimp, then purposefully left them because quite honestly they were not worth eating.... nor was the pasta). My best advice: spend your money elsewhere.... Red Lobster serves the same frozen seafood nextdoor at a much better price. If mediocre food at fine dining prices is what you are seeking, then by all means try this ...
Read moreI recently dined at Secreto with my family to celebrate my daughter's birthday. While the service was good, unfortunately, the rest of our experience left a lot to be desired.
Firstly, we found the plates to be overpriced for what we received. The portions were not very large, and the quality of the food did not justify the cost. My Filet Mignon was dry and not cooked to the specification I requested. Additionally, the shrimp we ordered were also overcooked, which was disappointing.
To make matters worse, when we brought our own cake to celebrate my daughter's birthday, we were shocked to find that the restaurant charged us a $22 cake fee. We repeatedly told them that we wanted to cut the cake ourselves, but they insisted and charged us charging us the fee anyway. What was particularly frustrating was that they never once mentioned the cake fee to us before adding it to our bill.
Overall, I was very disappointed with our experience at Secreto and would not recommend it to others. The high prices, subpar food, and unexpected cake fee left a sour taste in our mouths. I will be leaving a one-star review and will not be returning to...
Read moreWe were so excited to go to their new location. We are giving them 5 stars because we appreciate all the effort they have put into making this location great. First the service was impeccable, even changing the utensils after the appetizers. Always ready to make everything perfect with a huge staff for a small location. Very professional. The ambience is gorgeous and very comfortable. The food was fresh and we could taste the quality. We had 3 issues but they are not enough to change our positive experience. The bread is awful and not for an upscale restaurant. White rolls that are cold with white bread flavor. Not even warm. They really need to upgrade to a more Italian bread offering. Second we ordered appetizers and were never given appetizer plates. We had bread on our bread plates and had to move it back into the basket so we could use the plate as an appetizer plate. That was bad. Lastly the clam linguini was flat. The linguini was cooked perfectly, but there needs to be a more garlic presence. Yes, we will return and hopefully they will read this and make some...
