I've been to this restaurant a few times and even got catering once because I've generally really liked their brisket and pulled pork. I went recently for Father's Day for the steak special and that was okay but not my thing; a very thin steak covered in steak sauce but I wasn't super worried about it because the price was at least decent.
Today I got take out as usual and got brisket and was excited to get home and eat lunch and then extremely disappointed to see this is probably the most disgusting brisket I've ever been served. The meat is extremely fatty and not cooked well and rendered properly. It is like they didn't have any concern or effort in this and there were only a few formed slices and the rest of it a bunch of grizzly bits for nearly $20.
The fry oil also tastes a bit dirty like it hasn't been changed in a long time and the overall meal just seems completely careless today. I started to have some doubts when I went for Father's Day because there were a number of problems including no functioning soda machine and water that tasted terrible being served. I wanted to hold my thoughts but after this order today I am done with this establishment and will no longer recommend them.
**To the owner who responded; I appreciate you responding and admitting the brisket wasn't the same that day. I wanted a good quality meal, not a refund. However, I don't appreciate you making a snarky comment about me being "empowered". I've personally given your establishment hundreds probably close to $1,000 since I've been in this area and this is the kind of respect you have for your customers? If you would have given some warning about the quality of the brisket that day and maybe things could have gone differently and they certainly would have gone differently if you would have given a more respectful response, I would have updated my review and rating based on that. The quality changed and the price didn't and you didn't say anything to your customer but now it's my fault? Lol, I guess I'll continue feeling empowered and telling the truth for...
Read moreI got the beef brisket with coleslaw and flat green beans and I would go back there again for that in a heartbeat. Brisket itself nearly fell apart getting it on the plastic Fork that is supplied for your dining pleasure and the brisket had a delightful taste all on its own even though I did use both their sweet sauce and their mild sauce. The mild sauce has a little bit of a kick in the back but it's not too bad. I say this as a person who cannot take too much heat put enjoys spicing to flavor, not to burn. I even found the combination of both of them to be pretty tasty too. The place is kind of like a year round indoor Crab Shack. That is the only description I can think of to describe the place visually. the tables are like fold-down laminated tables. Sturdy and very functional. The chairs were a tad low because I'm a tall guy but still very comfortable and sturdy. They have the interesting condiment tray at each table where the paper towels are mounted on a wood frame that you pull them off of like you would if it was mounted to the wall. Underneath of that is the sauce, ketchup and whatever you need for a tasty meal and to remain clean during it :-) the waitress was extremely efficient and pleasant at the same time. Rarely do you go to a place anymore where they get you what you want almost instantaneously. The food comes fairly quick and when you're ready for the check it was amazing how quickly they did individual checks for a table of 8 in minutes. Check out their menu online and see all the great options...
Read moreO-M-G!!!! I couldn't wait to do this review. So, my hubs drives past this place often and came home one night saying he wanted to try it out. So I'm like, "I could eat." We pull the menu up on the website and pick out our meals. I'm absolutely into dessert, so the pecan pie wrapped up our order. We pick up our food without issue with the service. Once home, we dig in. Welp... Both of us ordered the brisket, and it was great. My husband got smoked turkey, which he enjoyed as well. It leads me to believe all of their meats are moist and delicious. The sides; however. Boy. I wished I had just got the meat and made my own sides. They simply dump them in water and process them. The greens, the macaroni and cheese...everything. Super bland. I couldn't even digest them. Be prepared to season your sides. It's as if they are sending them to a retirement facility and have to be mindful of geriatric dietary restrictions. Gross. My pie you ask? Great. I'm not into excess sugar, but it was naturally sweet without putting me in a coma. We paid over $40 for both meals. The portion of the sides was tiny. Cost for value was disappointing. Had I paid $25 for the meal, $10 per meal and my dessert, ok. But over $40 for my experience...Definite No. Get the meat, have your own sides on standby...
