I must say I have been coming here for some time now. Steak and shake is one of my favorite restaurants but I'm a little disappointed in this place because I came in for shakes today and I was waiting in the waiting area (due to COIVD its only limited people inside), I noticed that the employees weren't changing their gloves as often as they should. Going from one burger to another. I noticed as I was waiting there were also two customers that came in with an issue with their order. One couple that was also waiting for shakes as I was, was here before me and were waiting a while for their shakes as I was too. The employee in the purple shirt named Amanda I believe was the manager had gloves, took food out to a customer outside with those same gloves opened the doors to go outside and come back in and I didnt see her change her gloves or even wash her hands. She could've very well did it in the back but at least she couldve taken off those dirty gloves before going back with the food. We definitely didnt get the satisfaction guarenteed as stated on the plaque on their wall. The couple waiting before I was, was very upset and asked for the manager only to get NO response not even an apology! Mind you the whole time I'm ALSO waiting for my 2 shakes I ordered and havent been even checked on either! There was a staff that was VERY helpful I must say the ONLY one that was NICE and she is the ONLY reason why I kept my cool. Her name I believe she said is Macy, she had a yellow shirt on and mentioned she usually works nights but took up an earlier shift today. She was nice enough to come and check on us, not only that but refunded our money and made us fresh shakes that came within 5 minutes! I am very disappointed and from here on out will definitely think twice about coming back to this steak and shake unless to be honest Macy is here then I would love to be...
Read moreMy wife and I waited for 9 minutes before our order was taken at the drive through, a chocolate shake that's all, we paid, they then asked us to pull forward to wait on our order even though there was no one behind us and it took another 7 minutes to get a chocolate shake. On the way home my wife took a sip and said it tasted off so I tried it and it tasted somewhat like caramel but definitely not chocolate so we drove back to have it corrected. Upon receiving the second shake my wife took a sip and said it tasted off again, this time annoyed I took a large sip and found it tasted like peanut butter (both my wife and I are allergic to peanuts) upon going in and requesting to just be refunded instead of having a third shake made I was met with staff that insisted I allow them to remake the shake instead of getting my money back. Upon speaking to a manager,(a shorter woman with light hair who's name started with and S ) she said she would go to the back to look up the order since I wasn't provided with a receipt at the window. She then came back up to the front and waved a receipt saying that she sent the money back to my card and promptly threw the receipt in the trash bin before I could ask to keep it. Upon getting to the car and informing my wife that I just had them refund us and that the manager sent the money back to the card, my wife informed me that she paid in cash. So now both my wife and I are miserably itchy and covered in hives and the manager lied to my face about refunding me the money for the shake they took back from me and threw away. I will not be returning to this location, the staff is incompetent and the manager is a liar and a theif. I have contacted corporate with my concerns and they are investigating my claim. Hopefully something...
Read moreI have been to this location several times and it was always a nice experience, however, today was not one of those days. I ordered a reese's peanut butter cup shake and a cake batter shake. I had to return because they mixed up the shakes. They put the wrong toppings on the shakes. So they both had peanut butter in them. My daughter pointed out to me that she would have been fired when she worked at Sonic for something like this because of potentially causing someone to have a fatal reaction if they had a peanut butter allergy. I asked to speak with a manager because I didn't want anyone to die over a shake. I didn't want anyone to get fired, but I figured telling a manager would help because they could let their team know to be more careful. Instead when I asked to speak with her she said she was a manager and immediately sounded frustrated. She said they have signs all over saying they aren't responsible for any food allergies. I didn't ask her whether or not they were responsible for food allergies. I just wanted her to speak with her team because again this could have been fatal to someone with a peanut butter allergy. If she is the manager she needs to learn how to approach situations like this differently. If you or a loved one has a food allergy especially a peanut butter allergy I would not go to this Steak n Shake. Regardless if there are signs she should have told me she would speak with her team so they could know the importance of what that shake could have done to someone with a peanut...
