Thai Shokun Restaurant — Restaurant in Florida

I've seen this place multiple times as I shop in the plaza all the time and eat at the Greek restaurant on the corner. I wanted to do something different so we ordered takeout I got the volcano chicken which was horrible too much breading a very large portion with no chicken and was bland and the volcanic chili sauce smell like it was tainted we ordered the egg fried rice and we found a large hair which look like it was from a beard. My wife ordered the teriyaki chicken with a super small portion and had no flavor at all. The soft shell crab wasn't even a full crab it was one crab cut in half with too much breading. And whatever sauce came with it tasted really bitter. My daughter's ordered some pad Thai with beef and the meat was undercooked. The rangoons were horrible look like they hadn't changed the grease in months. Before we found the hair and the egg fried rice it had a funny smell and smell like it was burnt. I spent over $100 ordering takeout and I'm very disappointed. I will never go back to this place. I should have known when the whole entire restaurant was empty when we walked in. As we sat and waited a kind gentleman walked up to us and offered us a drink which I would have ordered one if I wanted to after a long day's work but I figured why not. He told the hostess and she proceeded to grab me a soda which I thought he was offering as a kind gesture as we waited and she proceeded to charge before it almost $3 for a can of soda. The amount of money I just spent at this restaurant to enjoy a nice dinner and something of a change has become a huge disappointment. I do not recommend this restaurant...

I started off ordering a lemonade that costs extra compared to a regular drink thinking it was gonna be freshly squeezed and it turned out to be the powder lemonade that you just add to water and stir. Our appetizer was ok but I wouldn't order it again, it was the steamed pork gyoza. We ordered sushi and a order of pad Thai. The Pad Thai came with a soup that kind of looked like dirty dish water. It wasn't very appetizing. The Pad Thai was again ok but the noodles felt a little too soggy and it was just sweet. Though I would not say I'm an expert when it comes to Pad Thai it just didn't taste as great as other places I've been to in South Florida.

The service was not good. Our waitress seemed very rude and would just plop our food on the table and leave without even acknowledging us as I tried to ask for my bill. The place wasn't even that busy as they had just opened we were the first customers of the afternoon. She just seemed really rude for no reason, and we tried being polite, but some people just have bad days.

The mural on the wall was kind of cool but there was paint splattered on the booths below it which made the place look kind of dirty. Also there was also a weird stench coming from the area in the back, perhaps there was a bathroom there, but the odor was noticeable and not pleasant, especially while eating.

For the price and quality of the food and service I wouldn't recommend. It looked interesting with the bar area on the inside but I probably won't ever come back again and I don't recommend you...

A simple misunderstanding placing sushi order went terribly the wrong wrong. A new employee placed the order but gave me the wrong sushi. When I picked it up I noticed it was not the sushi I wanted. They tried to place the correct order but had not time to pick it up. The new waiter misunderstood and placed it anyways.I was unaware until I called in over the weekend to place a new order for pick up. That's when I was told by the owners girlfriend, I can no longer place order by phone because I did not pick up old order. Keep in mind, I've been a customer since they opened over 5 years). The owner/manager called me get my side of the story, he told me he did not want any trouble and maybe I should order elsewhere? I over heard the girlfriend telling him in the background, "I will not take her order if she comes in again" So who's the boss. Rule #1, this is America and customer is always right. Well not in this case, I will no longer patronize this restaurant. Girlfriend needs to be banished to the kitchen and wash dishes, she should smile when customers come in. She seems unhappy and...
