Another downward edit... their beefstew is a gelatinous glob of something other than quality ingredients.
Okay... this is an edit from my last review after another visit. Originally, I gave 5 Stars as I rounded up from 4.5... I still give it 4.5 Stars but this time I am rounding down.
The food I received on this visit was just as good as that of the first visit. Absolutely no complaints there. The folk were friendly even though they were swarmed with customers. The benches were not clean between the slats.. but since mentioning this in my earlier/edited review, that has been taking cared of. So kudos for listening. (end edit)
I am a little bit embarrassed that I did not know about this place before now. My wife drags me to this shopping center quite often to visit TJ Maxx and the Home Goods store. We have even eaten at the Greek restaurant next door a time or two... but did not know about this Souparee. While waiting for my wife to finish up with the doc across the street I was searching for a place to have dinner and saw the high ratings on this place.
I forget which soup my wife ordered (there are many) but I did have a taste and although it was not very hot, it was really good. Nice flavors, generous sized bowl and served with some homemade sour dough.
I ordered the small (French Onion) soup with a half sandwich. My choice was a BLT and when my food came out, the onion soup was piping hot and very flavorful. My BLT was larger than expected. I guess the sour dough bread is much wider than a normal slice of bread so my half sandwich was almost the size of a regular sandwich. And most importantly.... the dang bacon was crispy!! The sandwich was also served with a pickle wedge and some homemade potato chips. The chips weren't my favorite but we ended up eating all of them.
After enjoying our meal we took home a piece of their bread pudding... which was really good. I do not remember the price we paid for all of it but I do remember thinking at the time that it was quite fair. I marked this as 5 stars... and my true rating is 4 1/2 stars... but the experience was good enough to round up. Also... we found the folk that served us to be...
Read moreDon’t use DoorDash to order! I used the “order online” button on their google page with their preferred vendor of DoorDash that advertised no fees. The parking is awful due to the crazy busy Greek restaurant next door, so dropped off my 10 year old to run in and pick up. She waited a while and I could see her getting anxious so we found parking after a while and grabbed the baby to head in. There is a line to order at the counter to the right and another counter to the left with a Team member putting what looks like setups together. I ask her if we pick up to gos at this counter or at the register to which she tells “I don’t even know what name your order is under!” I’m honestly super taken aback and tell her the name, but also that I wasn’t asking for a status on my order because I received notification that it was ready for pick up a while ago - I just wanted to know if there was a specific place to pick up online orders. She then asks if I used DoorDash, which I confirm, and then proceeds to tell me it’s all one line and I shouldn’t use DoorDash because they charge an extra 30% and next time I should just stand in line and order to go like everyone else. AWESOME. So we wait in the line - it’s our turn - the lady behind the counter knows the name because my daughter has already asked at some point before I got there or because they knew she was here for the only online order and hands us the to go order and we leave. So the soup that was ready for pick up 20 minutes prior sat on a counter getting cold and you had a customer waiting in line for 15 minutes for an order that you knew was ready and literally would have taken 3 seconds to hand to them and sprinkle on some gaslighting on how it’s my fault for placing an order online and unknowingly paying a 30% increase in price and thinking there was even the slightest possibility they had an online pick up area and...
Read moreSo fresh and so yummy! Def one of my go to's. However being left on hold for nearly 20 minutes is less than desirable. I was told 5-10 minute hold not 20 minutes. I come in usually 3+ times a month. I understand it can be busy.... but my phone call came before many patrons even walked in (the door rings each time it opens). I had the same issue that last 2 times I called (it was the same server). I know this because the last time I visited she charged my card $40 for a pint of baked potato soup and a whole Cobb salad. Today... I got just a salad, it was $12. Honestly I wouldn't have been so upset if she would have just apologized for leaving me in hold forever.... but instead she justified it and got a bit of an attitude. So much so that the other two ladies came out to take over. If this review was based on the customer service from the young lady up front I'd give it a 0.
Not sure if I'll be back any time soon... the last two times were not so great. Kim is the best up front! Never an issue with her... she's spot on with wait times and super polite!
Also.... its not good business practice for one employee to bash another employee in front of paying customers... essentially it shouldn't happen at all. The young lady needs some...
