Appetizers: 4/5

The brussels sprouts were absolutely delicious. They were cooked to perfection - crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with a wonderful flavor profile. The brussels sprouts were definitely a highlight of the meal.

Main Dishes: 3/5

While the brussels sprouts were a hit, the lamb chops fell a bit short. They were a tad bland and could have used some additional seasoning or sauce to really bring out the flavor. The lamb itself was cooked properly, but it lacked the punch of seasoning that would have elevated the dish.

Kid's Menu: 4.5/5

My son thoroughly enjoyed the mac and cheese and wings. You could tell the kitchen put care into preparing these classic kid's menu items. The mac and cheese was creamy and flavorful, while the wings were crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside.

Service: 4.5/5

The customer service was delightful throughout the meal. The staff was attentive, friendly, and accommodating, making for a pleasant overall dining experience.

Overall Impression: 4/5

Despite the slightly underwhelming lamb chops, the restaurant provided a very enjoyable meal. The brussels sprouts were a standout, and the kid's menu items were a hit. Combined with the excellent customer service, this restaurant is worth a visit, especially for families looking for a quality...

First impressions are lasting impressions. We joined friends for a late afternoon lunch on Sunday. We heard of this place and wanted to check it out. I would like to report that our first visit was Amazing! The atmosphere and overall vibe of this place screams refreshingly fun and friendly! Service was that of days gone by, attentive, courteous while still remaining safe wearing masks and keeping social distancing a priority. The menu’s selection is complete and offers a variety of choices from something light to a full chefs choice meal. There is a great wine service. The butcher cases are stocked with mouth watering selections of prime cuts in beef, pork , sausages and more, but let’s not stop there, do you like seafood? Well let me tell you the selections of shrimp, crab, and other deep water delicacies are almost overwhelming! And let me tell you the portions are HUGE ! When you are sitting in this electric environment and the owner takes the time to introduce AND interact with you as guests it will confirm you came to the right place. I know we will be back again and again and again. Come for a great meal and stay for a even better...

It is said to make $1 million in the restaurant business you need to start with $2 million. The Butcher’s Barrel is an attempt to upgrade the “culinary district” of Oakland Park - and it needs the revival. The restaurant feels like a neighborhood bar and has plenty of outside seating. Inside it has decorative garage doors which can open and provide good air flow. The restaurant is designed with polished cement floors and is very bright and welcoming.

There are some mouth watering offerings including short ribs, pork chops and goat cheese pecan truffles. The meats are generally served with polenta or mashed potatoes. There are some good wine and beer options including beer from Wynwood Brewing Company.

Overall, I believe the Barrel is a work in progress as it addresses some opening kinks. What appears to be missing are any warm green vegetables (I know this is a butcher shop). Some spinach, carrots or broccoli would do the trick. Also, there were a few service hiccups including providing unclean utensils. These can be easily resolved.

This place is worth a visit and a show of support for the Oakland Park...

The Butcher’s Barrel is a wonderful experience. Upon entering you think that you’re entering some generic brewpub- but do not let looks deceive you! This place has some of the most thoughtfully crafted food in the area. After being seated, I was presented with the extensive wine list, which our server (also manager) Ryan gave many recommendations and even some samples. I really appreciated how he tried to tailor our wine choice to what we were thinking about ordering for entrees. Anyways, on to the food. Now this is a MEAT place, keep that in mind. I ordered the Steak Frites and was informed that this place is more “traditional” and a medium rare is cooked to 125. The steak was fantastic, tender, flavorful and the fries were great as well. Overall, if you’re looking for an elevated steak and wine place, look no further. I would not bring vegetarians or beer drinkers here, but this spot is perfect for a date night or intimate gathering. I will be back!
