This is my main source of groceries. The prices are great and I am able to get just about everything I need. They have a decent selection of items and you'll do well as long as you aren't married to brand names which are often packaged in the same facility. In any case, I find their brands to be every bit as good. They do have some brand names, but not that many. Concentrating their wholesale power on a limited number of products saves me money. When I shop at other outlets like Publix, or Winn Dixie, I get a bit of sticker shock. Although they sell some basic deli meats, they don't actually have a deli or a butcher on hand. Fresh fish is limited and shell fish is frozen. If you need something special, like raw Jumbo shrimp, a whole fish, snapper, or a swordfish steak, large sea scallops, or a particular cut of meat like prime rib, then you need to go elsewhere. Those are specialty items. Aldi's is good for.the everyday stuff and that includes frozen goods and items of convenience.
The only minor deficiency I ever noticed was with the produce, The selection isn't bad, but I always preferred to use it fairly soon. In the early days, it didn't seem to have a very long shelf life. Things have gotten better since they first opened here years ago, so I don't think that's an issue, but then, I go to produce outlets. There's still a limited selection on hand, compared to larger supermarkets, but all the expected basic fruits and vegetables are there.
A couple of things to know if you've never been... Bring your own reusable shopping bags and also make sure you have a quarter (refundable) on hand to unlock a shopping cart. They do sell bags, or you can use one of their empty packaging boxes.
Overall, the store is a great place to shop and stretch your dollars. It fits into my weekly shopping routines and I recommend them to everyone. It's a mainstay. I do the bulk of my shopping at Aldi's. I've been going there for years now, since they first opened in my area. I am glad they have more locations. Now, I can stop at any number of locations in my regular travels without going out of my way. The newest locations are particularly nice and seem a bit larger than their first stores were, but they all carry the same items and in addition, they have pretty good weekly specials on non-grocery, household and personal items that are displayed in a centrally...
Read moreI've shopped at Aldi's on Oakland Blvd in Oakland, FL several times, and it's one of my favorite supermarket chains. The store offers a wide variety of products at very competitive prices, which is great for budget-conscious shoppers. They have a great selection, and I love their store brand items as well.
The layout is straightforward, making it easy to find what you need quickly. I appreciate the selection of fresh produce, meats, and dairy products, which are always of good quality. They also have a decent range of organic and specialty items, which is a nice bonus.
One of the standout features of Aldi's is their weekly specials and promotions. They often have incredible deals on seasonal items, household essentials, and even gourmet products. The "Aldi Finds" section is always worth checking out for unique and limited-time offers that can save you a lot of money.
One thing to note is that Aldi's operates a bit differently than other supermarkets. You'll need a quarter to use a shopping cart, which you get back when you return the cart. Also, bring your own bags or be prepared to purchase them at the store.
The staff is generally friendly and efficient, and the checkout process is quick, even during busy times. The store is clean and well-maintained, which makes for a pleasant shopping experience.
Overall, Aldi's on Oakland Blvd is a reliable place to shop for groceries, offering good value, standout deals, and a decent selection...
Read moreTwo problems: 1. See the attached picture? That's where the carts are kept. Disgusting. My wife mentioned this to the manager, and he said that was the Plaza Maintenance responsibility. But Aldi is the ONLY store in that plaza. She asked if he could complain to Plaza Maintenance. He said he would tell the manager tomorrow. 2. One of the employees confided to us that the cashiers are rated on how fast they ring up customers. This ultra-fast checkpoint often causes problems. Such as some items being scanned twice. Recently the receipt was unreadable, so we asked for the receipt to be re-printed so we could check it's accuracy. A manager showed up, but he started ringing up customers said he wanted to go with another employee to show him how to reprint the receipt. We waited, and eventually got our receipt, but I think when customers are waiting, maybe not the right time to train another employee. It just feels like everyone is afraid of not ringing up people in the time corporate wants, that mistakes...
