Calling all those without taste buds… Disappointing Experience and Serious Concerns We visited this restaurant with high hopes, but unfortunately, our experience fell far short of expectations. The carne asada was incredibly bland—no salt, pepper, or any seasoning to speak of. The beans tasted like they were simply boiled, and the overall dishes lacked the bold and vibrant flavors typically associated with authentic Mexican cuisine. The only dish our party of four enjoyed was the birria tacos. When we raised the issue with the manager, they admitted that sometimes they "forget" to season the food, which was surprising and disappointing. In fairness, they did offer a discount for the uneaten dish, which we appreciated. However, what made the situation worse was that on our way home, our 3-year-old—who had only eaten the beans and some pineapple juice—became ill and vomited. I called the restaurant to inform them, not to place blame but to give them a heads-up. Unfortunately, the response was dismissive, suggesting it "must have been something else" he ate. This experience left us feeling not just dissatisfied, but genuinely concerned. While the restaurant has thousands of reviews, I believe it caters to a specific crowd that may not be familiar with the rich, flavorful profile of traditional Mexican food. I hope this feedback is taken constructively, as we always want to support local businesses that take pride in what they serve.

Vallarta in Wesley Chapel continues to impress! This big, vibrant restaurant offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere, with daily happy hour deals that are hard to beat. Their extensive menu has something for everyone — and at very reasonable prices. The staff is always friendly, and the service is fast and efficient, which makes the dining experience even better. We’ve been here before, and it’s consistently great. The chips and salsa are served right when you arrive and so fresh. This time, we ordered the parrillada — a meat lover’s dream! It came loaded with an incredible variety of meats and plenty of sides, all packed with flavor. We also got the chicken parrilla, which was a perfect, no-fuss option for our kid and still left us with tons of leftovers. In fact, with just two main dishes, we had more than enough food to bring home. The portions are generous, the food is delicious, and the value is unbeatable. Vallarta is definitely one of our go-to spots, and we recommend!

Arrived about 30 minutes before happy hour, and waited to be seated about 20 minutes. While you wait inside or outside you may order from the bar a drink and/or appetizer. I ordered a jumbo 60 oz, yes 60, margarita on the rocks. It was perfect. I also ordered cheese dip and chips which was delicate, with a little kick to it, and steak nachos which had cheese, steak, beans. The chips were crispy, and not greasy at all. My server was attentive, and catered to my needs i ordered eggs and chorizo (sausage) mixed together accompanied with rice, and refried beans. I requested 2 scrambled eggs on the side. I was not crazy about this dish only the green pepper. I will comeback however to taste other dishes in the future. Rating it 4.7. Back in town, visited 12/22 upon arrival for a monster margarita, and melted cheese/ chips. Never disappoints, and great service. The server was all over being attentive

Worst experience at this restaurant. One thing after another. Will NEVER go back there and would certainly not recommend to anyone. Not being sat while on waiting list was just the start. Easy 3 groups arrived and we're sat before us (there were 2 of us and a child) with virtually no wait. When I went up to figure why and what was happening we were magically being sat at that moment. Margarita machine was broken - couldn't get any flavors so ordered regular and waters with cheese dip. Literally had to ask for waters 4 different times and cheese dip 3 times. Cheese dip was not hot - luke warm at best. We ordered fajitas for 2 and a kids quesadilla with rice. After a long wait and getting restless we noticed the table next to us who was just sat received their food. Was annoyed and made a joke about trying to be friends with the kitchen so we could get our food. Well the joke was on us. About 10 minutes later I asked our server the status of our food. He literally went to the table next to us picked up the plates and brought to our table and put down. Yes - that is correct. He delivered the food to the wrong table and after it sitting in front of 4 other people for 10 minutes thought it was okay to bring old, cold and possibly contaminated food to our table to eat. Then was irritated with me when I asked him to remove and make fresh plates. He brings the kids quesadilla out but no silverware. So I go to the hostess stand to get some. Walked back to the server putting a sizzling fajita plate in front of our 2 year old! Are you kidding me!?? I lost it. Luckily my mom was on top of things and she held her hands and was paying attention. I reacted and instantly moved the plate - burning myself. I still can't believe the carelessness and simple lack of common sense. The food ordeal was one thing but to set down a sizzling hot plate in front of a toddler is beyond ignorance. We were sitting at a round table that say 5/6 people - literally could and should have set it any where on the table that wasn't in front of a two year old. Forget the fact that they didn't remake the food - they just put on hot plate. We aren't stupid and it's insulting to think that it took that long to get our food and our 'fresh' food was remade and delivered in the time it took me to walk to the hostess stand to ask for silverware. My boyfriend called to talk to a manager and he was cussed at told they were busy and hung up. Nothing happened until he repeatedly called. A female called him back and she told him it wasn't her problem and they were busy. It wasn't until he got ugly with her and demanded she help rectify the situation and our more than poor experience that she walked over. She came over with an attitude and scolded ME for the way he spoke to her on the phone. After he was cussed and hung up on. Overall was a horrible experience and will never go back. Do yourself a favor and go to another restaurant - far too many options out there to settle for this train...

What can you expect. Waiters/waitresses feel they are owed 18% or more just because they say hello, can I take your order and then say here is your check, take your time, no hurry. So, if this is you, then you won't get more than 10% from me. Sorry, not really. I expect you to come back to my table and check for my satisfaction, a little casual, unscripted conversation and check the level of my drink, and if it's unlimited refills, refill it without asking, otherwise ask, I'll probably drink it, or not, but that shows you're doing job. What I really hate about dining out is telling the staff how to "DO THEIR" job. It's not or shouldn't be my place to ask for service. So I walk into this place and sit down at the bar. Nobody notices. I consider my options, get up and walk out, sit and wait, or dramatically make a statement to an employee that I'm here, I've arrived and I'd like some service. Like how about a menu, maybe a drink, or something, PLEASE. Finally someone notices, I'm served chips and salsa, I wait a couple minutes and then I get a menu and am asked what would you like to drink. Then he disappears, a few minutes later he reappears and I order my drink. Ordered food and as I'm ordering, he walks away. Halfway to kitchen, I completely order. WOW, didn't think he heard it all, but I was fortunate. Order received and delilivered. Pretty smooth sailing until I was ready to go. A little bit of a wait, but not too bad. Got my check, handed over my credit card and set. Done, ready to get out of here. Except, I felt a need to type all this. If it weren't for their Margarita, who knows, I probably wouldn't have typed this. Great Margarita. Too bad girl them. Don't forget, tips are...

We went here once when they first opened and the restaurant was still really gross from when it was a bar, flies everywhere, muggy, stuffy and smelled bad. It’s been a few months so when our neighbor told us it was really good, we went again! I

The place looks great. They really spent time painting and it gives a wonderful vibe, but they still have flies EVERYWHERE. In the food, in your face, everywhere. We still ordered bc we hoped the food would make up for it. It didn’t. The margaritas are sugar water, which… fine. The food: flavorless. That’s it. I had tacos, my husband had a shrimp dish… we both walked out feeling sick, but only haven eaten a few bites. Once our food got delivered and it sucked, we decided to just leave… but good luck finding a staff member!! I waited for a few minutes before I ultimately walked back and called from the bar. It seems all the employees were sitting at a booth in the back of the restaurant out of sight. We got our bill which was missing the happy hour pricing and also wasn’t detailed? Not sure how they came up with a $70 bill but hey, such is life. We paid, we left. Save your time and money… there are real Mexican restaurants not far from here, trust me, go somewhere else.

If the business owner reads this, please make authentic food, we love having a close restaurant. This flavorless food, such a letdown. Bad service, dirty, overpriced AND NOT GOOD? Come on..

I’m fine with a fly in my face if it means delicious authentic food....
