If you plan on using the drive thru in Wesley Chapel, prepare yourself to wait in the car line forever! I have used the drive thru 5 times, hoping each time it would be better than the last. Nope! Out of the 5 times I've used the drive thru, I have twice drove out of the line and left, even after ordering, because the wait was so long and I was going to be late for work if I waited any longer! I sat in line for over 20 minutes! Just terrible service. Maybe they need more staffing? Not sure, but they need to do a lot for improving the drive thru experience. Many times, they are out of items if you go after 7pm. I arrived at 830pm, only to be told they were out of mac n cheese, biscuits, sprite, and red beans and rice. This was not the first time. I have not been back for months, and really have no desire to go back. It's a shame, because their food is very good otherwise...... UPDATE: 11/15/2021 Still no change. This restaurant still consistently runs out of food items. Avoid this Popeyes.
UPDATE #2: 01/23/2023 Once again, after 4 years of trying to give them more chances, still no change. The manager of this franchise, or whoever is in charge of ordering the menu items, needs to be fired. They never have enough of what is offered on their menu. Consistently running out of the sides, tenders, white meat, dark meat...you never know until you get there and order. Even the soft drinks are not available at times!! So, so frustrating as a customer who loves this food, but can't trust this franchise on what is actually available to order. I wish corporate would come in and clean out the management and start over! Oh, and the drive thru line time has not changed either. SMH They need to learn from the Zephyrhills location. I have never had an issue there, that store is managed well.
UPDATE #3 02/14/2023 My wife just went through the drive thru after waiting a long time to get to the menu board/speaker. They were completely out of nuggets, tenders, and most of the regular chicken at 830pm!! It's a chicken restaurant and they are out of chicken!! No red/beans rice, no mac n cheese!! They don't close for another 3 hours! Whoever is running and managing this location needs to leave for the sake of the Popeyes brand, this place is not getting any better, leaving their customers frustrated and angry. If I could give negative stars, this would be the place to do it. Please, save your sanity and go to the Publix deli and get your chicken craving fix from...

First, two different people started taking my order in the drive thru, neither had good customer service/ politeness. Then, I saw I was charged extra for items that should have been included in the overall advertised cost, so while waiting I went in to the lobby and asked the cashier about it. He couldn't give an explanation, just that all the customers were charged more for it, but couldn't explain why that's not advertised. Wasn't apologetic about it either. Offered an extra side of red beans and rice for me to go away. I just only didn't want to be screwed from what they advertised...each side was up charged $.50 each. A $1.50 extra charge isn't a big deal in the long run...I would have been more satisfied and not made a deal out of it had they used better customer service techniques, such as being even a little bit polite. Im a combat vet. I'm pretty tolerant, even very tolerant when I can see the other party is trying. In this case, seemed at first that the manager had poor management skills (about 4 employees were out back smokin and joking when we pulled up), she was working harder than they were. While I was asking for help to understand the add'l charges, she was just feet away in the work area, apparently she told the cashier thru headphones to offer us another side to make us go away and didn't come up to talk until I asked to talk with the manager three times. Poor leadership. That being said, even if this problem isn't their fault, they had a bad attitude toward a customer who asked to understand why he was being charged extra for items that were stated on the menu to be included in the overall cost stated. I don't like being treated like some dumb customer, by college students who've never been shot at, mortared, rocketed, IED'd, or seen their squad members dieing in front of them. I don't take that...
Read moreService was "decent" from the gentleman who took our order, given what was going on at the time, but he was definitely uncomfortable with the situation surrounding him. Sadly, as we were walking in an employee was in the midst of a breakdown, quiting and storming out, with some other coworkers following after to see what was going on. Weirdly we got our food pretty quick (within about 5 mins or less), my son had only ordered a chicken sandwich, some mashed potatoes and a drink. This was weird to me because there had been 3 people just before us in line who waited for their food much longer and they didn't seem to have gotten a lot ( I know this because my son had wanted to eat in and we had time to sit, him to eat his sandwich and mashed potatoes and we finished before the 3 ahead of us even got their food.) One bit of criticism I could give is that there seemed to be more people "not working" behind the counter than were "actually working". Of the probably 8 people I could see, there was actually only 3 doing work. Additionally, the drive through was backed up the entire time and I had seen multiple people told to pull ahead and wait, still there waiting as we left. Just such a strange experience, it seemed like there was no management on duty, keeping things organized. If there had been any present, they definitely were either overwhelmed or not doing a good job. It didn't seem overly busy either, just slow and...
