Wawa — Restaurant in Florida

I get that this store is brand new at this location. Note: you can only order from their menu through their ordering machine (or mobile app if it works correctly). However, they were not ready for big things. I tried to order chicken strips, burritos and fruit smoothies through the mobile app, but it is NOT taking a credit card, and the "pay when I get there" option doesn't work either - the only option is a Wawa gift card that you can add in the "pay" tab. Useless. Ok, so my family and I went inside the store to use their ordering machine. Two of the machines I tried to use just kept lagging, and by the time I was ready to check out, it cancelled my order! How pathetic, plus the long line was not helping at all. I left the store so disappointed. The only thing I bought from there was icee, because it's self service and the promo price is the same for any size.

There should have been a third option, like a register where a staff can take the order. There was a staff that passed by and told me "I can help take your order", but she left after saying that, entertained someone else and then disappeared.

Wawa, if you're going to use technology for ordering (no staff taking orders at a register like any other fast food/convenience stores), please make it right!!! I'm a big mobile app ordering person, but I will be back ONLY...

I grew up in NJ, so I was so excited when they started opening Wawa locations here in Florida - especially in Citrus County. BUT this location needs a lot of work. I know that it’s a new store, but they are very under-staffed and the staff that they do have moves VERY slowly. This morning I waited for 30 minutes for a breakfast hoagie, and in that time they only handed out a handful of similarly small orders (maybe 5 or 6). I have stopped in just about every day since they opened 9 days ago and only once have I been able to order, pay, and leave the store in under 20 minutes. They don’t have these issues at other locations (Brooksville, Orlando, Tampa) which are even busier than this store. I’ve also had several instances where they have gotten my order wrong, even though everything is ordered on their computers and displayed on the screen for those assembling orders. This usually isn’t a big deal, but when you’re charged extra for items on your sandwich and then they’re not included, you’ve wasted your money.

Credit where credit is due, though. The staff is very polite and pleasant, and the coffee is always hot, fresh, and delicious. The coffee alone earns this Wawa 3 stars, but if they want to stay as busy as they are now they’ll need to fix...

I have been a Fan and customer for over 30 Years, originally from the Philly / So Jersey we lived for Wawa. Was so happy when they came to Florida itn was a dream come true. Waited a long long time for them to come to Citrus County. Went there yesterday opening day and Citrus should there love will a giant turn out. I told several of the employees to be patient with the people today and a bit for they do not have a clue what Wawa is and does for them unless they are from Philly & NJ area. The employees did a great job while I was in this store dealing with everything the Citrus people came up with Great Job and Welcome to Citrus County Florida, and our Hoagies were good despite it being the first day and all the con fusion and numbers of excited...
