On April 1st between 6:30pm - 8:30pm.
Disappointing experience with Theresa as a waitress. I joined our group about 20 minutes later, and it took her longer than 15 minutes to ask if I needed anything. As I was ordering, she had an obvious annoyance (especially when I placed a to go order, she leaned into her dominant leg that much more) and even scoffed at me. I waited about another 15 minutes to get my beer and it wasnât even her who brought it. My to go order coming out 40 minutes before my dine in order was another disappointment, and my order being wrong and combined with others orders made no sense. The manager comes out and literally drops two trays of chips and salsa and says for the delay and walks away. No connection with our party.
I understand that management and cooks are also responsible for the delay in food and the way a restaurant runs so I am not putting all of this on Theresa but her lack of communication with us escalates the disappointment in the way we were tended to by her.
Thank you to Ashley for being an amazing server. She is the waitress that brought out my two beverages out to me, and the water Theresa forgot. Apparently she is a server for the other room, and yet tended to us with such a positive mindset. When I spilled salsa on myself she brought me club soda with the sweetest demeanor.
I am disappointed and concerned that the manager was not able to identify who Ashley was when I tried to talk to him about the only highlight I could point out. Thank you to another server that was able to help me out, so I could thank Ashley properly. Management should know their team.
I am also disappointed that the venue knew they were messing up badly with our large party and still automatically charged all of us an 18% gratuity. The managers few words included âwe are busyâ. You are a venue at a convention center, I would have hoped you are aware of how to prep your team for large parties and conventions. This is not the first time we have come to Gaylord for a dance convention, and experienced this. We had a similar experience 2 years ago and attributed it to short staffed from COVID. With great concern, we are coming back in July and our lack of food options or good service has me dreading our next visit.
We waited more than 1 1/2 hours to get our food. Not once did Theresa communicate with us outside of taking my order in a frustrated manner. This is the service industry, you should know how this works. This is Gaylord Resort, I expect more.
Edited to add: someone in our âlarge partyâ went to the bar to order food, after receiving the annoyed reaction from the bartender and cashing out, he received his order...
Read moreI have to say how sad I am to write this review. I had been here before and it was pretty good. Yet I went two days ago and I cannot believe what I was served. I ordered the West Coast Cobb and my friend ordered the Chicken Nachos. Let me tell you about the salad, if I was in food I would have never sent that out. The ingriendents that were put on the salad was old. I understand it is a bar but there is no excuse. They had english cucumbers on the salad which i was really excited about, but these things were at least a week old. They were withered and just really ugly and omg it tasted like garage when i tried to eat one. The salad also had egg on it and the egg was room temp they were not cold. So i am thinking the salad are made to order and left out because the egg on the salad was warm and had a smell so I just scraped them to the side. I was extremely disappointed with what I was given.
Then the chicken nachos, I had been really open minded about this because who doesn't love nachos, but how these were presented on the plate Gaylord Palms should have been embarrassed. I realize the food is all going to the same place but if I am paying 18.00 for chicken nachos can you at least make them look nice on the tray not just thrown around. I wish I would have taken a picture because I was like okay. Also the meat was not good at all. & I hate to be the one to complain but come on this is gaylord palms and I know it was bar food but it was 18 dollar bar food the least they could have done was cook the chicken right. It was all dark meat chicken which i was eager to try but I think they boiled it and they just threw it over the chips because it was wet not moist wet and the chips were pretty soggy. It was just bad and I don't know if they put a type of beans on there but let me tell you they did not taste like beans, and we were there for a convention so it was not like we had time to be doing this.
I must say I am disappointed with Gaylord Palms because this service I was presented with did not meet the standard I thought the resort withheld. I also would never have paid 55 dollars for that had I known it would have been that bad. especially for how long we...
Read moreRecently tried Wreckers at the Gaylord Palms Resort in Kissimmee after a mid-week visit to their annual âIceâ event. Overall it was a poor experience. In brief, the staff was friendly but food took a much too long and almost every dish from our party was cold except for my wifeâs.
We came in just before 1 pm on a Thursday. We had originally planned for lunch elsewhere but experiencing Ice took longer than expected and my daughter likely would have had a meltdown had we tried to wait any longer. It wasnât busy as they were able to accommodate our party of 8 without delay. We immediately ordered a hot dog kids meal which came out very quickly, then placed our orders right after our drinks arrived. The menu isnât large, mainly appetizers and a few entree selections. We ordered a tater tots appetizer, 2 paninis, 3 burgers, and a tacos meal. This is where it went downhill as our food wouldnât arrive until about 2:15 pm, maybe an hour after our orders were placed. Worse than the long wait everything except my wifeâs tacos came out cold! This included our tots appetizer. I swear our food must have been sitting out for 10+ minutes and not even under a lamp. I complained to our server who apologized and had the manager come by. The manager was very nice and apologized as well. She offered to have all of our food be remade but it was already about 2:30 pm by then, late enough for lunch. She then offered to comp the entire meal which I insisted wasnât necessary but they did anyway. My parents and in-laws ate their cold meals. I have never seen them waste anything, not even a grain of rice so that is not to say it was good. I on the other hand couldnât bare to eat a cold burger and left mine alone after my initial bite. The menu is very limited and not at all complicated so I think our experiece was probably due to poor kitchen management or communication as to when orders are up. For what itâs worth, my wife really enjoyed her tacos but even on a good day I donât see this place being more than 3 stars. I expect a lot better from what is supposed to be a 4...
