When I saw that a new restaurant was coming and filling the space where Starbucks moved out of I was anxious to see what was to come. Then I saw it was going to be another pizza place. When I saw the name during construction I looked it up online and saw it was another build your own place and I thought, ok when they open, lets give it a try. And I so happy that I did.
Being someone who is trying hard to eat more gluten free I was excited to see that they have the option for $2 more. I also like how they ask if it is a preference or an allergy. Once they prepared my dough, which is kept seperately from the other dough. Even though they have quite a selection of recipes pizzas to choose from I decided to "publish my own" and so we started with their huge selection of sauces. After getting the opinion of one of the "newsboys" I chose the pink sauce which is a combination of their tomato sauce and white sauce. I added some minced garlicon top and then the cheese. They have 8 different cheeses to choose from. I decided on shreeded mozzerella and pearlini mozzerella. The next step was meats and veggies, where we added chicke, Bourbon Bacon, Crimini Mushrooms, Grape tomatoes and last but not least Articoke hearts. With my pizza completly built they loaded it in the oven and I headed down to the register.
Despite the huge selection of beers on tap I chose a fountain drink and then headed over to find a seat. Before I could head back up to the counter to get my pizza, one of the Newsboys brought my creation to the table on a pizza paddle. They also asked if I wanted any finishers for the pizza, like balsamic glaze, BBQ Sauce, basil, cilantro, etc... But my creation was perfection and I couldn't wait to dig in for the first bite.
I grabbed one of the slices, gave it a fold and took a bite; making sure to get all of the flavors. Absolutely delcious. I have to say that the gluten free crust is one of the best I have had. So very often GF crusts end up being very thin and overly crisp or too chewy. This was perfection and had a bit of sweetness to it. Before I new it, I had eaten the whole thing.
Everyone was so friendly and the pizza was great. I look forward to trying different flavor combinations as well as trying a salad or two.
Extra! Extra!...
Read moreDo Not eat here if you have allergies. I saw they had vegan cheese & thought I'd try. My mom & I stopped in. She got a 1 topping regular pizza with real cheese. I told the guy that I had a dairy allergy. I reminded him to change gloves. He told me I could only get the Glutton -Free dough (I make my own at home & dough consists of flour, salt, water, yeast - no dairy). There was an extra charge. He started to make my mom's & picks up the chesse, starts to put it on her pizza when he realizes he forgot the sauce. Now he puts the cheese back & picks up the sauce brush & starts to brush her dough. Problem, a few pieces of cheese fell on it before he brushed it with sauce. Now puts the brush back in the sauce - its cross-contaminated. I tell him this when he goes to make mine & he's confused, goes in the back & comes back with sauce on it. Now he makes mine, but I can see that all day he's been picking up cheese & meat & then the veggies with the same glove. The vegan cheese which is suppose to be Daiya brand which I use at home. It basically toasted & crisped on the top rather than melting. The conveyor belt style doesn't seem to work with this type of cheese. The girl who cut the pizza did use separate cutters. We ate on the patio outside & all the tables were less than clean & rocked. My mom said something about the cheese (real cheese) seemed wrong because it wasn't melty & stretchy, it was hard. Mine didn't taste great, but I ate half. I did end up sick from it because of all the cross-contamination. I wouldn't recommend it for regular pizza or vegan. The only good thing from the experience was that after looking at my receipt later, I realized they forgot to charge the extra charge for the vegan cheese. (yes, there is an upcharge for the glutton-free dough & another for the vegan cheese.) If you have allergies, go to Pei Wei across the street. They are much better with allergy safety. Also Blaze pizza (I ate at one in Gainesville) are also very good with allergy safety & their pizza is excellent for...
Read moreI was VERY disappointed with this pizza place while on vacation. We were there middle of February and after a long exhausting day at Legoland we called and placed an order to pick up and eat back at our room. I ordered a pizza with the toppings I wanted, never dreaming I had to specifically ask for cheese as a topping. I've never heard of needing to ASK for cheese... Normally you just have to ask for NO cheese if that's what you want. We ordered 3 pizzas and two side salads. The total came out to $95ish. The "side salads" alone were $12. When we got there we were starving, tired and had 7 hungry kids. Thank goodness I had the thought to open the boxes and look at the pizzas because a whole pizza had zero cheese on it. We were so upset as we've never had a pizza with no cheese and the kids were all crying. They said they would make us another pizza but at this point it was almost 8 pm and we couldn't wait any more so they threw some cheese on top and put it back in the oven. We got back to the room and opened the side salads that we were so excited to eat and it was literally an inch of brown wilted Romaine with a dusting of crappy Parmesan cheese in the top. That was it. For $12. Plus tax. I was LIVID! We couldn't even eat it the lettuce was so bad. We then called and asked for something to be done... We were assured we would get a refund for both the crappy pizza with no cheese and the wilted brown "lettuce." We have received no refund and a bad taste in our mouths for this place. We come to Kissimmee every winter and we will never be back to this place. Unless of course we get our refund. Do better Pizzas Press. You could have had repeat customers with follow through and better...
