Yummy Wok — Restaurant in Florida

I heard about yummy wok and I read about the reviews. Also, I am really glad that I went after six years. I’m looking for good Chinese takeout. I found it. I don’t have pics but I can tell you if you’re looking for the closest thing you can get up north if that’s where you’re coming from then yummy wok is absolutely the place to go. It’s in a strip mall right next to Winn-Dixie on Ponce de Leon in Saint Augustine, Across the street from Dunkin’ Donuts so I’m really glad that I went and I definitely will be coming back as my new for Chinese takeout oh, by the way, they even have duck and some different soups which is really nice for a change. I ordered the vegetable delight and it has the best spices I ever tasted and the prices are lowest anywhere, not that that matters to me. It’s the taste and quality of the food, and they do deliver . The people that run it are very very nice I believe their from NY and the places is absolutely spotless. Look at the kitchen while you stand at the counter you’ll see what I mean. Chicken teriyaki is really good not dried out crab Rangoon very good and the cheapest I think in town and their pork fried rice is really really good. I have had food delivered to my house several times from this place and I call to place an order again and they said I lived too far but yet they've delivered 5 to 6 times before in the least 3 to 4 months. So I asked when they changed they're delivery routes and the "girl" was extremely rude and told me I should have told her first that my order was delivery when I did. She tired to tell me that I lived 30 minutes from there when they are in Winn Dixie plaza on South Ponce De Leon Blvd & 207. I live at 207 & 95. So I told her it's not 30 minutes away it's maybe 15 minutes away and thatthey have delivered to my house enough that they knew what I ordered every single time without me telling them. They would just verify my normal order. After going through all that the girl hung up on me all because I wanted to know when they changed their delivery routes. I will NEVER go to this place again even if they did start delivering to my house. I I couldn't understand her at all and most of the time they forget to put everything in my order and then tell me they would bring it next time or next...

I say this with a minimum of exaggeration: this is probably the worst Chinese food that I have ever had. You’d be better placed microwaving a bag of frozen vegetables, dousing it in store bought teriyaki, and serving it on top of uncle Ben’s then eating this sad garbage.

The hot and sour soup tasted foul. It was completely Americanized. The dominant ingredient were Pizza mushrooms—shiitake let alone wood ear or lily bud were totally absent. It lacked the white pepper punch that a hot and sour soup should have. Instead, there were some red chili flakes. The soup was oily and unsatisfying.

The Chinese eggplant dish was not fully cooked—the eggplants were still chewy and not tender. The flavor profile was not horrible, but the texture was.

The chicken and vegetables dish was flavorless and came with a sickly sauce for flavor. This was very dull but at least edible.

On top of all this extremely mediocre food: it also took well over an hour for them to cook it, despite an original ETA...
