I really like this restaurant. The food here was delicious and the portions were generous. However, I noticed a few areas where the service flow could be improved, especially regarding the kiosk system:
Kiosk Placement: One of the key advantages of kiosk is to help divert traffic from the main counter, reducing congestion and improving efficiency. The kiosks are currently placed right next to the front counter, which leads to confusion as kiosk users and counter customers mix in the same space. This defeats the purpose of using kiosks to streamline ordering. A simple fix might be to swap the kiosk location with the soda machine. Given the L-shaped layout of the store, this would help guide kiosk users to form a separate queue on the right side and reduce congestion.
Receipt or Order Confirmation: The kiosks allow customers to skip receiving a receipt. I saw someone placed a large order using just a phone number, but didn’t get a receipt or digital confirmation. Someone else accidentally took their food, and they had no way to prove their order. I suggest requiring either a printed or digital receipt to avoid this...
Read moreI normally enjoy coming here for my Texas Rice Bowl, but today the service and food wasn’t up to par. They tried to charge me an extra $2 for queso, when they have free queso and chips on Thursday if you purchase $10 or more. It took 15 minutes for them to prepare my food, while they laughed and giggled inside. When I got all the way home there wasn’t any shrimp in the bowl. I called the restaurant and asked to speak with a manager. The young lady asked me what for. I explained again that I wanted to speak to a manager. The lady started talking to another female worker in the background and then she just hung up. I took the food back and told the same lady that there was no shrimp in the bowl and I’d like a refund. They opened the container and asked me if I ate the shrimp. How dare them! I told her I’m the same lady who called to try to rectify the situation and you hung up on me. She did apologize and gave me my money back. I don’t think I will be...
Read moreI did not want to do this, but it has to be done. As a person who has been to Mexico four times and eaten food with locals, in homes, villages, and big cities. As someone who has had Mexican food in LA, Chicago, Texas, NYC, Boston, and around the country. I can say with no doubt that this food is not made with love. Is this quick food that is not going to speak for the broad and complex flavors of all of Mexico? Of course not, but even quick Mexican should have flavor and soul. It’s performative Mexican for juvenile palates. I have to also say as a person who knows what Authentic Jalisco, Mexico (Home of Birria) Birria tastes like. I had the worst Birria tacos in North America at this location. It’s not only Americanized but also lacks the depth of flavor that comes from time and love. If you are looking for “Mexican” food fit for a senior living community, this is your place. The Jamaica is okay, but not made...
